2010 or 2011 model?

My lease is up in June, should I get the 2010 coupe or should I wait for the 2011? Is the 2011 model a huge change from 2010?

thanks...

I need help deciding.

Depends, coupe wise the 2011 is the LCI (facelift)....the sedan was (09)

...And there's pretty huge changes, the engine being one of them. N55 to replace the N54, new LED headlights/tail lights, bumpers, etc....

for more info.

The F30 (sedan) is scheduled for sometime in 2012, and the coupe usually follows in year or so later, followed by the M3 after that.

2010 all the way. It is so much nicer if you are talking about the couple.

Craig, you're right... The complete change doesn't occur till after 2012 so truly it's no biggie. I'll have to talk to the dealer tomorrow

As far as I know, changes to the interior include:
- a new interior color (oyster),
- a new trim (bamboo)
- the new double-clutch tranny, if you get auto.

Unless you want huge 1st year depreciation

As soon as the 2011 LCI hits showroom floors, dealers will be selling off 2010 stock at large discounts

If you buy a 2010 now with a relatively small discount you're in for spectacular 1st year depreciation

So financially speaking, your choices are either:

A 2011 model....at a premium or

Wait until 2011 models are released then negotiate a good discount on a 2010 unit. Obviously you'll have to buy from stock, so if you don't find a unit with color and options you llike, you're back to a 2011 vehicle

Worst move would be to buy a 2010 model now without a really high discount

They are also doing away with a couple of exterior colors, mainly Monaco Blue(in favor of Deep Sea Blue, which IMO isn't as sharp looking), which is one of the reasons I just bought a 2010 and didn't wait.

I would also go 2011. I have heard some people ordering them already. If you are not planning on ordering, I would wait until the 2011's are on the showroom floor and then make your decision.

I also didn't wait because there was one Monaco Blue left in my country(!), and I wanted it. (I also didn't want the LCI facelift'd front)

For sure, the longer you wait, the better the rebates. But there's also theoretically less choice of remaining in-stock models...

Idk, BMW seems to keep upping the price every year and yet takes out some features.
