so it begins - long cranks 29F2&29DC codes

Right after the first long crank it went half/engine
Ran like a dog for that drive. But seems to be running ok now. Probably will call dealer on wed or thus.

34K
First pump was replace within 8-10 months of delivery - about 14.5K miles

edit
Just went to dinner. Soon as I rolled into it, that old sick engine feeling came back. Now it has a service engine soon light. Runs ok if its shut off and back on - at least driveability wise.

Pulled code - 29DC again.
Man - it runs like a dog.

I think im on my way to joining the club... 4 sec crank this morning... even during the colder winter months I was only taking 1 sec to crank, but now that it's 50's here, I just had a 4 sec crank... Great...

Dealer said
pumps are instock - hopefully new version.
But that a 'software update' has been fixing the prob so far.

Not liking the sound of that.

Diego I think you missed to see that this is his second HPFP and seems he barely got 20K out of it.

I swear, HPFP's and injectors go out with the season changes. We saw a bunch in early Fall and now Spring is around the corner, we are seeing a bunch of these threads pop up again. I am also experiencing longer than normal cranks and jumping revs on cold starts, I'm preparing myself!

Must be bad luck car week - just got a receiver hitch on a truck punch a hole in my rear bumper while I was backn - grrr

It was just at sunset and I could not see it well enough in the passenger side mirror.
I will prob have to pull the cover off to flatten the dent and try to close up the hole.

I think your bumper punched *it* and lost, I don't think the receiver hitch punched you.

All joking aside, I feel for ya: HPFP issues suck.

And for what it's worth: I have a 2010 335xi..... and know all the issues too well (had an '08 since fall '07).

A week ago: long crank #1 --- ~ 2x normal crank time.
The very next day: long crank #2, ~4x normal crank time.

Since then it's been OK, but I know these are the warning signs.

Anyway -- I don't know the part # / revision # on mine, but know that it's a Nov '09 built 2010 model.

Yep, never had any methanol on this pump and it failed anyway.
