Any clear answers regarding higher(800rpm) idle?
last month i've got the bmw performance power kit installed.
(this means new spark plugs were installed) since then, the engine started to stutter all of a sudden during the idle and the rpm rises from 600 to 800 and never comes back before i restart the engine. i'm through lots of threads & posts regarding this problem. but i guess there's still not clear solution for this. is there anyone who has completely solved this weird (normal for dealer only) problem? some says it's bcuz of the bad fuel and some says plugs...but still not clear... |

Dealer just BS'd me about this being normal DME behaviour. Ya Right! After I had the fuel pump replaced.....it never happened again. Sorry....but it sounds like your fuel pump is starting to act up. |

My experience : rpm staying around 750 and never comes down to normal setting (I think something like 550) when idle while I was waiting on traffice light, I have told bmw about this problem which has happened twice on my car.
Once I sent back to upgrade my firmware of DME, they found out there are 2 false codes have occured, one is related to AV, another is related to dashboard. They try to find out what happened on both, but they can't solve it and asking Germany to send the new dashboard and replace the present one. Now, I haven't meet the same problem, but I hope I couldn't see it again :P (touching on wood now) |

about a week ago, the engine started to dance like from 400 ~ 1500rpms during the startup. the bmw techs said that the fuel pressure is not normal and they've got it replace. |

i've had this issue twice...both for different reasons..
first time it was the fuel pump(long crank, idle bouncing 700-1500rpm).. got fuel pump codes. took it to the dealer and got it replaced...worked great and didn't happen again till i reinstalled my AR dp's. car started to idle just slightly rough and hovers ~700rpm. i only have bank2, sensor 1 codes and now im waiting for the sensor to come in to see if it fixes it. i wasn't the most gental removing the dp's and probably damaged a sensor. i would see if you have any codes in hopes it gives you anywhere to look:-) teri

Mine idles a bit high 7-800 and I have 2c31 and 2c6c codes that will not go away no matter what, even terry is out of ideas. Do you think it is an o2 sensor and is there any way to determine which one it is?
