Invicta Watches
E90Post is the king of watch info, and I need some advice.
I'm looking at an Invicta 3410 Pro-Driver Tungsten Edition (pictured below). I know next to nothing about watches so wanted to get others thoughts on the company and products they make. Originally a $1,500 watch but I'd be getting it for a steal. Description: Swiss made automatic movement 47mm Case Ceramic and stainless steel case with rotating bezel Exhibition case back with sapphire crystal TritniteŽ luminous hands Tungsten and ceramic solid bracelet with stainless steel safety buckle 200 meters Water Resistant Thanks! Please don't ask why I'm considering after I swore I'd never spend more than $300 on a watch

I have 2 invicta russian divers, both listing about $1200, and I've not paid more than $200 for either. Check out Amazon. They're a solid watch, huge, for the money they're well made. No comparision to a Breitling / Omega, etc., but far less expensive.

I don't understand the markdowns on these watches. They simply arent $1,000+ watches, ever. They are all a few hundred bucks. Maybe its part of their marketing scheme.
In any case, they seem to have a wide following on the watch forums and are respected. I just wouldn't ever buy one.

Unless you are getting it for $50, don't be too hasty. Invicta watches are always available for 60-70% off MSRP. So take some time to think about it and see what else is out there.
If it just sings to you then by all means, get it. If you are buying it to look cool or to tell your friends you have a $1500 watch you might want to rethink that tactic. Anyone who is into watches that you might be trying to impress won't be. Its a fashion brand to be sure, and for day to day use, its more than fine. I've got more watches than I'd care to admit and a good rule of thumb for me is that until you get up to $2,000+ level you are getting exactly what you pay for regardless of weather that's $50.00 or $1800.00. For the most part when you start to get above that level, you are paying for a name or use of expensive materials and/or limited editions that will drive costs up. I'd pass, but that is solely my opinion. Watches are a very individual and subjective purchase. So if you like it... I say go for it. For watch advice, I'd recommend you go to a watch forum like watchuseek or timezone. Good luck. |

they're basically timex or citizen motors and replicated bodies. you wont impress anyone so don't pay full price. they're good if you want to buy like 6-12 at 60-70% off and change it everyday for a week or two.

I'd be essentially getting this for $350-400, purchased by a friend a year back and not used.

If you are really into Invicta watches, you should go here.
www.invictashark.com At least get something current, for less money. I don't want this thread to digress into every other watch thread about saving money and buying a Rolex FTMFW!!! *wrist shot* *wrist shot*, so I'll simply suggest to spend the same amount on a different brand. |

I have an Invicta 9937. Supposed to be one of the best/legendary invicta watches. The thing is built like a tank and very study but the swiss movement is a piece of shit. The thing looses time out the ass. Runs very slow.

This...
...and this... ...shouldn't be in the same sentence unless you are talking about something they made before 1970. If it is in fact and ETA movement, you should be able to get it at least somewhat regulated by a competent watch repair shop. |

psssht. Omega? They're a nicer watch than the invicta, but hardly a high-end watch. Kinda entry level in the world of watches.

Skip it. I wouldn't pay, and haven't paid, more than $150 for one new. They are solid, the movement is fine (not fancy, just works and keeps time). Both mine are quartz, haven't lost a minute in over a year. Can't say that for my Breitlings, Panerais, Corum or Choppard. They are all automatic movements, and even with my watch winder I don't keep all of them wound, but the ones I do keep wound lose more than a few seconds a month.

Ended up buying the watch and had it resized so I could wear it last night. I SO appreciate the advice here, ended up getting the watch for $230 because of it.
Nice watch, looks great on my wrist. A bit heavy, but we'll just consider it 'manly' sized. I wear a lot of gray/black so this will fit the collection perfectly.

^ in the end it's what you feel is fair. if you think $230 for that watch was worth it because you like it, there you go. it's your opinion that counts.
