Burbank COPS

Friday night I got a window tint ticket for having them 15% on the front. Ive never got one before do I have to remove my tints or can I just pay the fine and keep them on. How much is the fine none of my friends know. So does know anyone here have a tint ticket in burbank,Ca and what did you guys do.

^ i just got one as well in Brea.

you have 2 options, get a police or highway patrol to sign it off after you take off the tint and they'll charge a fee (it varies but usually from $10-20) and then you have to pay the court the ticket which is $25.

or you can go to court and pay a fee (don't know exactly how much but around 200-300) and you don't have to take off the tint. but the amount increases each time you are pulled over for tint

You just have to take off the front windows. Shouldn't be that expensive.

police told me even if you have a note from an eye doctor, saying that you have eye problems, it doesnt excuse you from not removing ur tints or have tints at all for the front two window. u are not suppose to have the front two window tinted in any circumstances.

I just got a ticket from the CHP. i have had my fronts tinted with 21% for almost 3 years.

The cop didn't even get the color of my car correct, he wrote gray and my car is black sapphire...

A friend of mine asked me why I could not just swap license plates with a car similar to mine that has no tint. I don't even know if that would work, there is no VIN on the ticket, but some cops might ask for the registration to verify the VIN and some might not. I kinda doubt they would check it.

Anyway, I don't know anybody with a black 335 like mine to even try this idea.

15% is pretty dark. That only allows 15% of the light in. 30% is what I see mostly on cars, it's noticeable dark but not really enough for most cops to pull you over.

I've hear dof people thinking about doing it. IMO, the risk to reward ratio sucks. I wonder how bad the punishment be if you got caught. But good luck with your ticket.

guess what? my eyes are sensitive to direct sunlight due to complications from surgery. i have tint on every window in my car, even my windshield. and no one gives me a hard time, and if they do, i have an exemption.

if a cop wants to pull u over the cop is going pull you over, 30%, 15% or 70%.
Law, in cali, says no tint up front. that's the risk u take when u tint.
burbank pd FTMFL!

most tint shop will pull it off and put it back on for a cheaper price - check out
your tint shop and see what they can do for you. and try a lighter tint.

Wait, over 70% is legal

my C230 came with light blue tints from MBenz, and it was 100% legal

^ i'm running 35% tint and still got pulled over. it just depends on how anal the police is.

and yes the eye doctor note stuff didn't work. I tried it haha. Police said doctor's note doesn't excuse you from breaking the law.

and i've called the tint place and asked, its only$40 to put the front one back on and you can take the tint yourself. it really isn't that bad...
