lmao

mine takes like 5 min, 2.0 ghz dual core 2 gig ram

i think it's just vista being grumpy??? I love it once it has started up though (vista). Always worked fine for me, crashed like 3 times in 2 years, so really not a problem. BUt the second I downloaded google chrome, IE started taking like 50 seconds to boot up. Jealously, lol

lol wassup with the mac fanboy bombardment. All you need to do is clean out your system tray and defragment it and its good as new.
My laptop took, 30mins to completely boot up before. YES fucking 30. Then I installed W7 and completely wiped out everything. Now it boots up in about a min.

start->run->msconfig

Go to startup tab - most of that shit can be unchecked.

+1

Check your msconfig startup tab as mentioned, then clean up your startup folder under programs, and then I would consider a disk cleanup and defrag.

And as for the Macs, meh. I own a Mac and PC and the Mac just isn't that great. Aside from graphic design I see little use for them personally. But that's me. I started in the computer world when I was a kid (early 90's) with Macs, then went to PC once I entered college and into the workforce (I do tech work for a living) and then just recently decided to go back to Mac. I won't do it again.

forget mac, just get an SSD harddrive, I dont care if you are running windows 95 with spyware and porn all over it, it will still bootup in like 20 seconds with an SSD drive. They are way cheaper then buying a mac too.
