Downloading music from HDD

Since the E92 will be going next week I thought I'd start preparing...Plugged in usb stick as instructed, selected download music collection i.e. from HDD to usb, and all I get is message telling me to plug device into usb......am I missing a trick???

I don't think you can go from the HDD to the memory stick. Is the stick in the USB in the glovebox? I do know you can't go from the 6FL slot in the armrest to the HDD.

The files that you download from the Idrive HDD to USB can only be used to upload back. The format that they are saved in, don't allow to be played on a computer. Besides this, some USB sticks are not compatible with the USB port in the glove box therefore they are not "seen" by the Idrive.

You CAN do it. You jut need to use the USB port in the glovebox - NOT the one in the armrest .
