get a jb3/bt cable/dci combo. Cheaper and sooooooo much more performance. Its not like you are overy concerned with your warranty since youve already tuned. Email terry and get it goin. Also the customer service/ tech support is out of this world!

If you want a great flash for the money, get the GIAC flash, if you want to pay 2.5 times as much for something arguably not as good as GIAC and with a suspect warranty at best (as well as DINAN reporting you have flashed your car), then get DINAN - DINAN should change the spelling to D$I$N$A$N, they make good stuff, but still charge way too much for it!

I've just seen the install of the JB and it looks like a pain in the ass to do. I'd like something with more power, but not he hassle of the wiring harness going everywhere

Go for the Dinan Stage 2 software, they are offering 20% off on all the flashes right now.

I had the Stage 2 software on my '07 335i and loved it. I was entertaining the idea of going with the GIAC software on my '10 but the fact that they haven't released the map-switching tool yet deterred me.

I ended up going the Dinan route again and I am extremely happy with the decision. Obviously, my opinion is a bit biased but I honestly feel like it is a great tune. JB and Procede are both good options too from what I understand but I just wanted something that I didn't have to haggle with constantly. I really didn't want to mess around with prying open my ECU/DME and installing something.

Good luck getting an objective answer to that one. It's like asking if you should get a Camaro on a Mustang forum. Do your own research and take people's assessments of tunes they've never owned with a grain of salt.

I'm very happy w/my Dinan Stage II software. No strain, no pain, just gobs of smooth power.
Good luck whichever way you go, tho.

Don't Dinan. JB3, DP's, DCI... all of that can be had for the price of Dinan

Ive noticed some dealers are "Dinan Authorized", isnt this in any way a conflict of interest with regards to a dealer's code of conduct being a dealer??

Your SSTT probably makes a bit more power than Dinan Stage 1.

^ Those 3 tunes. Can't go wrong with either one of them. They all pull much stronger than Dinan and you can save the extra $ left over to extend your original BMW warranty.

Just curious, where does GIAC state the expected hp/tq gains with their Stage 1 flash in terms of crank numbers? Can't find concrete numbers anywhere.

Aside from crank numbers, from the dyno results that I've seen from members on this forum, the Dinan Stage 2 and GIAC Stage 1 appear to be similar in terms of hp and tq increase. In fact, the Dinan Stage 2 appears to yield more tq in several instances. (Some examples - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...nan+Stage+Dyno and http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...an+Dyno+torque) Although, comparing dyno results is a bit of a nightmare though, especially when several offer no baseline...
