Dyno my stock 335i with Procede V4 Stage 1

Hello,

As the title says i went to dyno my car. The shop that dynoed my car will be sending the graphs later tonight which i will edit and post for everyone to see. The Dyno used was Dynapack: http://www.dynamotorsports.ca/

Configuration/Results
Valet Mode
HP: 272 (baseline)
TRQ: 298

MAP 1
Boost limit 15
overboost delay 5ms
UT: 50%
IC: 100%
HP: 325
TRQ: 390

Map 2
Boost limit 18
overboost delay 5ms
UT: 80%
IC: 75%
HP: 343
TRQ: 390

I also tried:
Boost limit: 18
overboost delay 5ms
UT: 100%
IC: 100%
Result: slight knocking above 6000 rpms

Boost limit: 20
UT: 100%
overboost delay 5ms
IC: 200%
Result: knocking immediately (2-3k), needless to say dyno was not complete

Map 1 is what i'll use daily driving, so far it yields better than stock gas mileage (assuming driving normal) @ 11.4L/100kms. Map 2 is what i'll use if i need the extra juice. both these configurations render no knocking and the engine runs smooth and powerful.

quesiton: does anyone know if its ok to be changing configuration values while the car is fully on and moving? i was doing this while the car was on the dyno, i would change the values on my laptop, and then use my DCT button to toggle maps.....

Dynapack, NICE, that's what Dinan uses on their cars. Great way to remove a variable out of dyno runs and increase consistency.

that's some great Data...for once someone did a baseline run.

What gear did you dyno in?

Good info put please remember that 100% user torque runs the most aggressive boost profile that we offer (18psi). And that is only to be used on a fully modded car with race and/or meth. So using it on a stock car with pump gas is a pretty bad idea. For a stock car on pump gas, you'll want to stick to 30-50% User Torque range and reduce ignition correction until you start to see knock retard in the logs.

Again, this will all be automatic soon enough. But until then, please be careful with the maps.

What Octane were you using? I'm assuming these were the 2-23 maps.

hey shiv,

what do you recommend for my 2 maps? for instance:

map 1
UT: 30%
IC: 100%

map 2
UT: 50%
IC: 75%

reduce ignition correction means a lower value input for the parameters (IC) right?

currently i have:

map 1
UT: 50%
IC: 100%

map 2
UT: 80%
IC: 75%

...and no knock....if you tell me this is bad for my stock car, i'll use whatever map you tell me...so please tell me!!

How much psi have you got with UT at 80 ?
On my car with UT at 50 and ic at 100% i have a lot of power since 2000 rpm but after i have 15.5 - 16 psi and i think it's too much for a stock car (back pressure)...

What do you think shiv about this ?

What maps are you running 2-23??? Because my stage 2 2-23 maps UT are 100% and IC is 100%, i assume your running the newer maps where 20% yeilds stage 1 40% stage 2 and so on.

Depends on what you are trying to do. In this case, map1 seems like a very conservative map for when you are just tooling around. It will make 13-14psi of boost. Map2 will make around 15psi of boost and run more aggressive due to the lower ignition correction. If that is what you want, go for it

Your previous map2 user torque setting of 80% is way too high (17psi) for a stock car running pump gas.

hey shiv,

i just noticed that your installation guide stated:

"3) Please note that Map2 is a dedicated high output Race gas/Methanol map. With user Torque set to 90%, Ignition Correction set to 0% and Stg 3 hardware installed on the car, this map will run 120-125mph trap speeds. For obvious reasons, this map is detuned in terms of User Torque and Ignition Correction). More on this later. "

ive been using map 1 as my conservative map and map 2 with higher UT values for more spirited driving. after reading the above statement, i realized that this map is defualted as race gas meth map....have i done damage to my car?

lol.. no damage done. Could you point me to the link where I say that about map2 being for race gas? That doesn't apply to the beta maps which I believe you are running. So I'll ammend my post.

hey shiv,

http://www.vishnutuningforum.com/for...read.php?t=990

im running v4 map 2-23.

i don't understand the difference between stage 1 and stage 1+. because when i load the maps the map includes both stage 1 and stage 1+.

i thought i can leave it at stage 1 and run a 17 peakboost 30%UT 100% IC on map 1 and map 2 17 peakboost 50%UT 75% IC for more spirited driving....i've been toggling between these two maps for about a week and seems all is well..

my dyno two weeks ago with 18peakboost 80%UT and 75%IC yield no knocking and ran strong, but i am tempted to run these user settings, but your post above advised that i do not go past 50%....i'm sure you know better knowing that i am looking for longevity and smoother drive....which i have to say that i am getting with this procede V4...very smooooth

on some of your marketing materials, it says that v4 comes with "active knock control", how do i get this or see this?

the two features Lagfix 2 Logic and lean-run cruise - are these features automatically enabled?

thanks

ok... where do i start? You're confusing the public release maps for the private release beta maps. And also confusing v3 maps with v4 maps. With the 2-23 v4 maps, the docs explain that the only difference between map1 and map2 (in each stage map file) is just top end boost taper. Map2 has less taper above 6500rpm. It is not a "race gas" only map by any means. And running these maps at 100% user torque is perfectly fine. Dropping UT will simply drop boost from the standard boost target (which depends on what stage map you run).
