335i vs SL55

So the guy next door just bought an SL55, driven it a few times its one seriously fast car, my question is this, would jb3'ing or flashing my 335i make any difference in keeping up with that beast?

I know its 500hp but its also a very heavy car, feels heavy but just so much torque to keep it moving.

Would be interested to hear your views

piggyback and its very close if he has a pulley etc. if not, you should be faster. same with a sl63. sl65 is a different story though

Certainly in the range of upper 12s at 110-112. Probably a couple of hundred lbs heavier than a e55.

Yeh he actually let me take it out for a spin on my own the other day, told me to go give it some lol although since its not my car I respect the fact he payed good money for it and drove it gentle

I'm not really interested in trying to race him, I admit his car is in another league from mine even if I could keep up with a tune. That V8K sounds next level!

Really doesnt feel like your hauling 2 ton along

If tuned, you'll give him a pretty good run. But, his car is a whole another league compared to yours. Nice neighbor though.

First hand experience, you'll hang or pull on him depending on which year he is and what tune you have...

With just tune and high octane you could run him. They trap around 113-115mph I believe. Just see my 335i build up details I just posted.

You should have no problems taking him. I have vk DP’s, jb3, and meth and I put a car and a half on an m6 convertible in a 60-140. Last year when I just had a tune I ran a 12.5 with @ 114mph so assuming there is little driver error you should take him. The next question is do you want to? There are few people who would let their neighbor drive their 110K+ car so I am assuming he is a nice guy. If that’s the case, if it were me, I wouldn’t make him fell any less about his investment by taking him down with a car that cost less than half of what he paid for his.

don't think you could keep it up with him, but that's entirely based on instinct rather than know-how. i don't know if you should even try honestly, it's in a completely different league. I have always found Mercedes sports-end cars to be underrated, but extremely overpriced.

IMHO your best bet is non cat dps, tune and methanol.

as stated though, Not sure You want to take your nice neighbor down.
You could do all your mods and then take him for a ride though !!
