Newbie w/ 355i and questions

Hey Everyone,

I just recently purchased a CPO 2007 335i sedan. Silver with grey interior, Nav, Sport, and Prem Package, Auto with Paddles, 31K miles local lease return.

I love this car. I’ve driven other Bimmers, none like this one. Truly amazing haha.

Just thought I would introduce myself and ask a few question that I have about 335s in general.

Are there any other issues besides the Fuel Pumps that I should be aware of? I have heard of a variety of other things that are prone to go out on these cars.

I’ve heard that there are also some cases about the wastegate wearing out early.

I have heard that there was a software update to fix an issue with turbo lag? One to fix a transmission glitch? Other software upgrades.

One thing that I noticed is that my transmission is a little jumpy/lurchy when taking off or downshifting in sport mode. Anyone have a similar issue?

Sorry to rant, just wondering.

Any pointers, advice, wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Some people are encountering a waste gate rattle. There are a lot of threads on this one but it looks like it's relatively common and something you might have to deal with under warranty.

For software, there are various different progmans floating around. There was a big uproar when BMW went to version 27 (is that the right number, I can't remember off the top of my head). I caused more turbo lag and many people were unhappy. Other than that different versions of software have addressed things like transmissions and brakes at different times, I'm not familiar with all the ins and outs of the software, but I"m guessing you'll have a relatively new version since you're in a CPO.

I can't really address the tranny issue, I'm rocking a manual.

Enjoy the ride, they're a good bit of fun!
