I'm going to Korea! which airline?
Hey guys,
I will be studying abroad in Korea this summer and I'm in the process of buying my ticket. I don't have a lot of experiences flying internationally so a little advice would be amazing. The prices are the cheapest for singapore, korean air, asiana and united. Which one is the best in terms of service and comfort? any of you have some experiences with these airlines? Thanks! |

If you're flying coach, try and get a seat by the wing...you'll have so much leg room!
Aside from the meal that's provided, you're also able to get unlimited cups of noodles.

All of the Asian airlines excel at service. I have flown to Korea many times on KAL and have always been impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of the attendants. Asiana is KAL's direct competitor and I am sure they deliver similar service. Singapore is well-regarded as having great service and if i am not mistaken, has actually been voted as the best for several years.

Korean Air. Try to book the ticket through priceline.org and get a Delta Airlines ticket to Seoul, South Korea. You will fly on a Korean Air Plane, Delta and Korean Air are part of the sky alliance so they work together.. If you do it this way, you will probably save a couple hundred bucks.

Singapore Airlines no doubt! Awarded as a 5 star global premier airline of the world known for exceptional onboard service and amenities but above all the "Singapore Girl".........If your flying out of SFO, then you will be on SQ's 777-300er with the newest cabin products and one of the best onboard IFE sytem "Kirsworld".

i've been on both Korean Air and Asiana. Both have great service, although Korean Air is more expensive. You can't go wrong with either or so go for the cheaper price between those two airlines.
BTW, you'll love Incheon Airport. It's one of the cleanest and most up-to-date airports ever.

Korean air has some hot gals, too bad they ain't gonna give you much love unless you are wearing a fat gold rolex sitting in business class.
Singapore Air wins hands down for service and friendliness. their food is awesome too. Asiana sucks. Their seats are so crammed together. I go to korea often and recommend Singapore Air.

Thanks guys. Judging from the posts, I can't go wrong with either airlines. I'll try to shoot for Singapore, though.
I'm studying at Yonsei University and might arrive a day early before check in date, is there a cheap hotel closeby that any of you would recommend? I don't speak Korean nor have I ever been there haha. |

SQ 11 is from LAX-NRT, maybe you can hop on Asiana or ANA from NRT-ICN. Otherwise, from North America, KE or OZ is more straight forward choice.
Plus, SQ 11 is still being served by B747-400 with SQ's older generation seats and Krisworld.

I recommend against United at all costs, their coach seats and service is pretty awful. I've never flown Korean, but I used to take ANA (through Tokyo) which was pretty nice. For speed, I'd go with Korean or Asiana, but for comfort I'd take Singapore, one of the Japanese airlines, or Cathay Pacific. |
