Standard Bridgestone 225" 19" tyres

Chaps,

Can anyone tell me what the standard tyre size's are front and rear on 19" 225 alloys.

I work away from home and the missus just took the car in for a service been told we need a wheel alignment and 4 new tyres!
Anyone know the cheapest place to get these?

225/3519 and 255/30/19, but you can go over size x1 ie 235 and 265 if you are changing for non RFT.

If you do go over size like i did with non-runflats.... beware the dealer can be awkward if you have a warentee claim....

this happend to me when i had wheel speed sensor problems....

Was this really a factor or just a typical dealer excuse? What speed sensor problems did you have - did you win the argument?

I'm going from 225/35 fr and 255/30 rear 19"s to 225/35 fr and 265/30 rear (i.e. only upsizing rears by 10mm width). I can't imagine the diameter change being significant, as it will only get 6mm bigger. The tread on a tyre can change from 8mm to 1.6mm - this is a 6.4x2=12.8mm change in diameter.

Problem still not sorted... i fitted 4 x new over sized tyres and new front wheel bearings and the soon after the dash lit up like a christmas tree with wheel speed related errors... i called out BMW assist and they didnt wana know because the tyre sizes were wrong and not BMW approved so was refererd to stealer... the stealer was a bit more sympathetic but couldnt reset the fault.... they basically gave up because id changed my tyres, discs and brake pad, wheel bearings for non BMW.... if i booked it back in for them to change back to genuine parts they would continue with the fault finding.... and i would get a parts & labour bill for £2k so im sorting myself with help from an independant BMW specialist. But the tyres are not the problem... we think its one of the new wheel bearings... this has now been replaced and i will pop in next week to get fault code re-set... fingers crossed?

Good luck getting this fixed. Not sure why wheel bearing would affect this? When you replaced the wear sensors for the pads, did you disturb any other wiring? Just had a quick look at mine and it looks like the front ABS and pad wear sensors go into the same connector housing on the pass side? Just a thought.

The wheel bearing houses the sensor pick up... the wheel speed sensor has been elimiated with checking against a new one.... so it can only be the new wheel bearing? cars only done 50K but lots of track days and several trips to the ring...

My Aplina wheels on my previous 335D were 235 and 265 repectively, and were supplied by bmw, so no warranty issues there.

Has anyone had any problems with all 4 tyres wearing excessively in the inside wall? as i stated above we need 4 new tyres but im wondering if this is a fault as its pretty unusual that all 4 tyres are worn in the same place and i havent hit many potholes.

Could this be a fault with the setup?

My STD Bridgestone Potenza's had excessive wear on inside edge's too... when I Changes to Falken 452's the problem disappeared...

I now get even wear on all tyres... but correct tyre pressure is critical

After driving another E92 recently with Continental Contact 3's I was impressed with how quiet they run.. the Falkens can be a little noisy on some road surfaces...
