Airman Tire Repair Kit

FYI, it appears that Canadian Tire is stocking this again - I couldn't find it for the longest time. I did notice that "airman" isn't on the box any longer - I think just the manufacturer name which is "Active".

They had 5 left on the shelf at the Markham store on Hwy 48.

Very similar to the ContiComfortKit by all accounts, although that costs $120 at my local tire shop.

They do. $19.99 each but I didn't look at the expiry date. The shelves looked newly stocked.

Interesting. I found the old one in stock last month and bought it, and the extra bottle, but never bothered to look for an expiry date. Note to self: check when I get home!

Edit: My kit expires 2016, my refill expires 2017. *sigh of relief*.

For the slime kit, you have to remove the valve core.. so yeah, not recommended over the AirMan (the AirMan gets the nod in my book simply because the Conti gets love, and they appear to have the same OEM).

do all these repair kit render the tire useless and u have to replace the tire after? or are some better then others?

i wanted to get one of these but if i have to replace the tire once i use these kits i'd rather get the tire patched and put it back on after....$15 vs $200 x 2 (replacing both tires)

someone please correct me if i'm wrong? i remember reading something about this a while back

It doesn't render the tire useless... but it will cost you extra at the tire shop to patch it cause they have to actually take the tire off the rim, clean out all the latex goop, patch it, then put the tire back on the rim and re-install.... My tire guy quoted me somewhere in the neighbourhood of $60 to $80 for this kind of repair.

I think normally they just plug the tire from the outside for like $10~15..
