Good list--besides the Bimmer, the VW GTI is a very fun car to drive. Has a lot of kick and handles very well--but I will stick with my new digs, the E92.

The S-Class is far too expensive to ever make that 10 Best list, regardless of its quality.
My feeling is that the 10 Best list represents a list of cars that average (or slightly above average) people can afford that offer enthusiast performance/handling. The Toyota Camry is a great value.. and a good car, but it's not a great car. While that new engine is powerful, I've always felt the Camry insulated you from the road in a bad way. The steering is always light and ponderous, and the pedals are mushy. I'd take an Accord over a Camry any day... and a Passat or Jetta over either either of them. The BMW 3er is the darling child of the automotive press. It's an amazing product and certainly deserves praise. I just hope BMW never begins to take their status for granted and lets quality or innovation slip in the way other luxury german manufacturers have. |
