wheel protectant
So I stumbled across this product video, looks pretty impressive. I know I hate getting honey on my wheels...
http://www.armorall.com/products/vie...ry_index=wheel I found something that looks the same on the crappy tire website... http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en That being said I have always used the wheel wax product however the application in this case is much easier. Anyone have any experience with this product? I may just pick-up a can and try it on my bike or something as a test. |

Picked up an Armor-All wheel protection kit from Costco a couple of weeks ago, it included that protectant spray, a bottle of wheel cleaner, as well as a wheel brush, and all for just under 17 bucks!
Haven't tried the protectant yet, but the cleaner and brush worked quite well. Will do a good clean and try out the protectant when the weather gets better...

i picked this up from canadian tire a couple weeks ago to try out. So far so good, seems to be keeping the brake dust off fairly well.

I've been using Eagle One's Keep Wheel Clean for awhile now and find it works pretty good. I've never seen it for sale here, but I picked up a few bottles last time I was in the U.S. I might try this new armorall product when I run out of what I have though.

i've tried both wheel protectants and using detailing wax on rims and none of them keep the wheel cleaner. at best, they make the rims easier to clean off (sometimes you just have to spray the brake dust off) but that's the same as if you use regular wheel cleaner.
i use eagle1 wheel cleaner.

I've not tried the Armor All rim protectant and will likely avoid using it, since I have found other Armor All products rather disappointing. For cleaning, I've had good experience with P21S, S100, and BMW Rim Cleaner Gel. The S100 cleaner is available from Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealers; some people say it is the same as P21S.

I forgot to update this thread, I also find it works very well. I use the wheelwax twice a year as a base then apply this stuff after washing the car. |

Couple things. Eagle One has many wheels cleaners, most are caustic (not acidic), one is ph neutral but it's hard to find. Just as an fyi.
I've found nothing repels brake dust for any significant amount of time. I do find Poorboys WS makes wheels easier to clean for ~2-3 months, if you don't use caustic/acidic wheel cleaners. There is a new pro level product that claims to last on wheels permanently and make brake dust cleaning hilariously easy. We'll see, I'm getting some next week. |
