335i DCT acceleration

When having my car in automatic mode with the sport button on the car flies. However, when I move the gear stick to the left i.e manual with the sports button on it seems quicker. Especially if I just let it change gear by itself in manual mode with the sports button on.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes it's supposed to be that way, the sport button doesn't change things as much as knocking the lever to the left, the handbook covers it.

Thanks for the reply. so for maximum performance I can just stick the sports button on put it in manual but let the car change up a gear itself.

Regarding economy is it more econimal in manual or auto?

I find the best balance is to knock the level to the left, the car is then in auto/sport mode, it will hold rpm for longer between shifts and will kick down on demand, if you touch the paddles when in this mode, the car will stay in manual and won't kick down and you'll have to reselect auto/sport mode again.

Full auto, without the sport button selected is the most fuel efficient.

When cornering, I find it quicker if I switch it into full M mode, then i get to select the lowest gear possible and keep the revs high...but for long stretches i find it quicker on DS mode, as i can keep both hands on the steering wheel...

and theres no economy mode in a 335i...D or DS ...petrol cost is killin me...
