Injen/JB3 install help
I just got it today and I was thinking of installing it myself right now in the garage but I'm just a little skeptical. I have done a couple intakes on other cars and I'm somewhat mechanically inclined but anyway...I did some searching and I didn't find any DIY's. Does anyone know where one is? I know it comes with instructions that should be find but if I could gather as much as possible right now..that'd be even better. Or if anyone has any advice for me, I'll take that too.
And I have the JB3 PNP. I haven't checked this out yet but I assume this is a very easy install? Anything special I need to know about this? BTW, has anyone had any problems after this? i.e. codes, etc?

Yeah, I got that....I'm figuring that has to be no big deal...just thought I'd ask anyway..
I'm just hoping the intakes don't get me stumped.....

I installed my Injen Intake a couple of months ago. It was very straightforward, you can certainly do it.
The only issues I experienced that slowed me down were:
If you start the install and don't understand what I am referring to above, let me know and I'll take pics of my own install to show the exact things I am referencing to. Injoy, -Walter

OK cool thanx. I just finished the JB3....that was easy enough...now I'm working on the intake. I'm gonna try to finish it...it's getting late over here....but thanx and I'll probably be bugging you about those problems when they arise....

I did my installation a couple month ago, same problem as Treppiede regarding the L shaped bracket that goes on the driver side strut wall. I ended up abandoning the original nut and using a different one I had at hand. The original nut had the inside groove kind of recessed, so it's not able to catch on. you'll see what I mean when you get to that step .
I can post pictures of my install if it'll help, I took a bunch of photos thinking i'd do a diy guide since I didn't see anyone else's when I installed my intake, but got lazy |

Well, I got it all done. I did have the problem with that nut for sure. But i ended up just using the one to hold it down...I'll go back and fix it in the morning....otherwise...all good...easy enough for sure. If I can do it, anyone can...lol...
I took her for a ride...and hopefully everything is good with the JB3..I think I read the instructions 10 times while doing it just to make sure, lol...either way, no codes (fingers crossed) or anything. I didn't get on it hard yet. The instructions say to wait a couple days while your ECU learns it? Vanguard exhaust should be here next week!!! Can't wait to have it all done!!!

Will do....it's after midnight here and I'll have a baby screamin daddy in just a few hours...so i'll be tired as hell tomorrow..
Man, I was reading through some threads about the JB3 and I hope I don't get those problems....I sure hope I don't have to enable the pedal setting....I knew I should have gotten the damn data logging cable and ran it through the firewall to my glove box the first time...but maybe I don't have to worry about it.... Thanx for the help and I'll let you know...

If you get a BT Tool, you won't have to worry about the codes. Also, a boost gauge is a good idea.

Yeah, I think I'm going to order a BT and a data logging cable soon.
So anyway, after about 130 miles or so....I definately feel more power. I'm being conservative though....I'm leaving it on map 3 for now..and probably another 70 miles...just like I've read and the instructions say your ECU has to get used to it.... Plus I'm hopefully getting my vanguard catback in this week...so after I get that on..and maybe another 100 miles or so..it's going up to map 5.....so I'll come back to this thread to report.....I won't start another thread on here about it (well, I might, lol)...since there are so many already....
