cp-e Standback - Update!

My friends at cp-e just gave me some great information regarding their Standback product.

After countless hours working on the programming aspect of the Standback, cp-e was able to obtain a much larger chip (capacity) for code and now they're able to talk to the car via CAN-BUS.

It's currently in BETA phases right now and the results look promising. He says the BMW control to the Standback control mechanisms seem virtually transparent with the addition of CAN.

I'll post some more updates as they come in!

This implementation of CAN is what the Standback really needs.
Should put them back on the map.

So, what is this "something else" ??? You don't mean Bavarian Technic tool do you?
The answer to this solution is not that easy to implement, so it shouldn't be cheapened and made to sound like it's easy to integrate. If it was that obvious, it would have been applied by the various tuners of the N54 before now.

You have to remember, Canbus Transceivers were installed on the Procede Rev.II PCB (not added on later), so I'm sure it was part of the evolution of their tuning strategy from the start..........hardly an after thought, unlike every other tuner now jumping on the bandwagon.

This level of tuning integration using the Can transceivers to convert Canbus signals to CMOS logic level signals so they can be processed and applied by the tunes microcontroller to control and alter the ECU's signals, is unheard of in any piggyback market..... at least at this point in time anyway !!!

Case in point is the fact that other tuners now feel compelled that Canbus integration is proving itself to be the way ahead for forward thinking tuners who want to have a tune that progresses to the next level.
I guess the old saying that some people will lead while others follow, has never been more true and representative than now.............some people need to have this pointed out to them as sometimes this line becomes a little blurry.

Lets keep the thread on topic...

You can battle out the tuner wars somewhere else people.

This thread isnt about what BMS is doing, or what Procede DID.

Just some quick updates:

The pricing for the Standback will not change with the addition of CAN. Additionally, code clearing is being developed and should be included in the CAN revision if all goes as planned.
