335is crossing the Atlantic - How long on train from Halifax?

My 335is coupe is on the UNDINE cargo vessel, scheduled to arrive in Halifax May 31. I can track its location up to its arrival in Halifax (http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shi...MMSI=265884000). Anyone know how long it would take from the train to Calgary? Anyone know how to track its progress on CN Rail (presumably)? Thanks.

Don't know how to track it, but you'll need to give it at least 4-5 days. Maybe sooner - but usually these CN trains make stops.

I did have a CN account and was able to track my car. It took about a week to get my car to Vancouver.

So 4-5 days for Calgary sounds about right provided the train doesnt sit somewhere for a few days - my car pretty much came non-stop.

I'm on the Undine too. Last time I shared a ship with somebody in Edmonton - he took delivery 6 days after I did. The car arrived at the GTA autoport in Concord 13 days after being discharged in Halifax.

Count on two weeks from when the boat docks until the dealer gets the car. It will take several days to offload and clear customs in Halifax then 6 to 7 days on the train to Calgary and then another 1 to 2 days for CN to transfer the rail car to CP for unloading. CN has no vehicle unloading facility in Calgary so they will hand it off to CP and that takes some time.

It's terribly agonizing to have to site and wait.

Saw this thread when I was lurking, might as well chime in...

It took 12 days for my car to actually get to Calgary from the time it got LOADED in Hali (2 days after dropping it off). Another 2 days in the yard, and I had my car.

Most of the delay was due to a major snow storm in Quebec that stopped the train for 3 days...

Mind you, the freight handler also paid for a rental car for me (5 days) for my troubles...

John - you were bang-on. The Undine landed in Halifax and unloaded my car May 31 and I just got word from my SA the train is scheduled to arrive in Calgary June 12. Less than two weeks... not bad at all. Thought it could have been double the wait.

Once it arrives, M3 rear lip spoiler, black mirror cap swap for body colour, and 3M treatment on front end. Can't wait!

That's interesting - my car was also on the Undine and my CA told me 10-12 days for the train to get to TO.

Somebody is being overly optimistic or overly pessimistic!

Thanks, my SA is tracking it for me on CN and giving me regular updates. Just left Sioux Lookout near the Ontario/Manitoba border a few hours ago.

Thanks for the CN lookup benyl. Hansen's has the car now - for 6 days, which apparently is how long it takes to truck it the 20km from Concord to the dealership.

The odometer is the first thing I'll be checking when I take delivery!
