Gravel/rustling noise from back

hi guys,

thought i would consult your expert advice again. when i set off from a standstill, foot on the gas (not flooring it) sometimes i get a sort of gravelly rustling noise from the back for a split second. it doesnt happen all the time just when i press down the pedal a tad over normal (still getting used to the sensitivity of the pedal and all that).

my initial thoughts are that its the wheels spinning and then traction cutting in the stop it. but honestly i am not really pushing that hard imo to spin the wheels. the tyres should be fine with 5mm tread on the back.

unless it is my heavy right foot, anyone who what else this could be?
thanks a lot!

Not noticed this on mine, are you sure it's not just an artifact of the surface you're driving on?

has happened on a few different occasions in various places. i'll do some more testing on the way home later. the 335D is not known to wheel spin easily is it?

i dont really feel anything but can hear a rustling sound (sounds like when you drive through gravel) for a very short time on take off. its my first rwd car so still getting used to the characteristics. cheers!

did some testing this afternoon/evening. maybe it is due to surface then as i could not consistently reproduce it. only managed to get it to make the strange sound on 2 occasions during the drive. ok i'll keep my ears on..cheers!

just a quick update on this, the noise has completely gone since i had the boost hose replaced. its as smooth as silk now.

i can only guess that the two were related in some way, or else something involved in the process of removing the boost hose has cured it. either way im happy now
