Those are two different "soldiers". I saw several fatbodys like that when training the 82nd in Iraq.

One other thing. I don't blame him as much as I do his NCOs and OIC. How any NCO could ever allow such a thing to pass for satisfactory in his unit is beyond me. Somewhere in his chain of command there's someone a bit too close to retirement. His chain of command is failing him.

I got out of the Marines as a sergeant. I can tell you that I'd never let someone under my charge get anywhere close to that weight. I would PT with him twice a day every day, eat chow with him, and if needed, remove all the food from his barracks room. I would do this of my own initiative, but if I didn't, I know my SNCOIC would make me babysit the fatbody anyway.

Maybe I can be army strong too. :P j/k Maybe they're raising fats to draw fire away. If I were him, I'd be constantly paranoid someone's going to shoot my big ass cause I'm a target double the size of others.

BTW.... how the hell do you get that fat when deployed? I'm clearly a civvie but to me it seems like it would be a mission in itself to keep those pounds on in the environment he's in.

I've seen some large active AF personnel before. While at LeJeune, I did pass up the a Marine that seemed a bit big in a non-buff way. Not as bad as the examples above, though. That is a bit much...

Yuck... Is that a Marine Corps MRAP and 7 ton? It sure as hell looks like it. My guess is that these guys were being trained in country by the Marine Corps. That's what I did my last month in Iraq for my 2009 deployment was to train the NG.

As much as we all see those x-military guys whole are in great shape from the day they level the military and you can tell they were solder at one time, I swear to god the military cranks out as many fat asses.

What happen is these guy while during training they were in great shape due to all the hard work they do day in and day out, However, at the same time the military is pumping in 5000 to 8000 calories into these guys daily to they have the energy to keep going. The problem occurs when all the activities stops, these guys never stop the food intake, they keep inhaling 5000 Cal perday and no activity to burn it off then you get the above.

Yeah when I was in as a Sergeant, our division inherited a SNCOIC who went on a roid streak after failing a PFT, so he decided everyone else should be working just as hard. Only problem was, he was too lazy to run PT, so that was my job. We did have some fatties (this was when I was in the Air Wing). I hate waking up and stumbling out to PT just as much as anyone else, but once I get going, I get this almost masochistic drive which usually ends up in violent puking; it's probably why I'm having all the physical issues I'm having while only being 30 years old....

Anyway, I did the same to our guys, was especially unmerciful on the fatties, and we raised the shop average score from 201 to 255 within one PFT period (about 6 months). I got some praise for that, which I thought was kinda weird, because all I did was torture fatties three times a week. They did ask me to take over for the MALS fatbody program after that, which met 5 times a week at lunch and consisted of over 50 fat ass, mostly malingering, motherfuckers. That's just too much for me though. Lunch time was for the gym and it would have screwed up my schedule. Plus, it was one thing to look after the division's "problem children", it was another to have to deal with 50 of them crying every day about sand in their vaginas and shit like that....

There are most definitely fat ass Marines, from the top to the bottom of the command chain. I was so excited when we finally passed that regulation where you could be assigned the "fat body" tag based on appearance alone. When I got out, one of my fellow SSgts was bitching about the regulation, and I had known him for quite some time; every time we had a weigh-in, this motherfucker would starve himself and spend hours in the sauna beforehand, barely making weight. Once they started with the appearance stipulation, he was so fucked. It was so funny. I was also getting sick and tired of having to go stand in the fatty line to get taped after coming in over the standard weight. Being 5'9" (sometimes 5'8") 190-195, I had no chance to make the weight portion. But I had extremely low body fat, so passing tapes was never a problem, but I always harbored a deep resentment for having to go stand in the fatty line at every weigh in. It was bullshit. There I was with a 31" waist standing with fucking fatasses who hadn't seen their belt buckles in years.... It still makes me angry. I dunno, maybe there's something wrong with the way I'm wired, but nothing made me more angry than seeing a fat Marine. I used to see red. It was weird. There was this MSgt in legal at our unit, and he was rotund.... He was trying to chew me out one day, and I just couldn't stand his fatness, so I walked out.... I probably woulda stayed and taken the ass chewing had he not been a whale, but the sweat rolling down his fat rolls on THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AND NECK broke me. I couldn't stand another second being lectured by this complete fucking waste of uniform material. Luckily, my OIC and SNCOIC stood behind me. Everyone hated that fat fucker.
