Need help about my loan pay off.
I traded in my 328i last week at a BMW dealer; I signed all of the paper work and drove off with the car. 3 days later they call me asking for a proof of income statement. I told them in person that I can't get them this for at least 10 business days, probably longer. Now I get 2 calls a day and am sick of dealing with them.
I am worried about them not paying off my loan on my 328. I called my bank and they haven't heard anything yet. Is there a legal obligation or anything that can tell them to piss off? EDIT: Just spoke to BMW I'm giving the car back and he said that they don't believe my credit app. I was honest on the credit app, but I just didn't put a lot of detail on it. Hypothetically what would happen if someone completely lied on their credit app on their job and how much they make? Once again I didn't do this, but I wasn't very detailed and I'm afraid that they are going to try and pull some BS on me. Final EDIT: I kept the 335i, my salesman was fired and I got my loan straightened out. Apparently he altered the paperwork and got fired for it. I'm in the clear, I didn't do anything wrong, or criminal. Last edited by Alexander; 06-04-2010 at 05:39 PM.. |

I know they should have. They never asked until a couple of days later. They haven't paid my loan off yet, and I'm getting pissed. I can't get my proof of income and I live 300 miles away and I'm not going to fax sensitive documents either.

Get a pay stub, use a permanent marker over the private stuff, just leave your name visible and your paycheck amount visible and fax it.

I guess. I'm just worried about legal issues. They believe that I lied on my credit app.
I didn't, but I wasn't very detailed. For my employer I just put USMC. I am a Reservist, am on the GI Bill, and I just got a job after buying the car. So I didn't put all of that detail on the app, but my income is the same. |

I can't because they think that I'm active duty, but I'm not. On my credit app I put that my employer is USMC, that's true I just don't make all of my income from them. I was in between jobs at the moment, but now I am employed again.

I guess at this point you're best off backing out of the deal and just doing one with another dealership.
I don't see why they'd care about who you put as your employer as long as you can provide verifiable proof of legit income from somewhere, even if it's not the same employer you listed. |

are you on the post 9/11 g.i.bill? you can try to see if they'll account for the BAH but then there isn't any type of paperwork involved, other than bank statements and deposits. If they'll accept the BAH, it should be more than enough to cover the car payments as far as they are concerned anyways.
but i think that when you turn in the car and they claim you lying on the credit app, it might go against your credit. Should be disputable later on when you get the proof of income, but it's a hassle |

I asked this on Bimmerforums and a guy said that I could be brought up for fraud... fucking fraud for not being meticulous on a credit app. This sucks major. I basically just wrote my income and then put USMC, nothing else.
So let this be a lesson to be super meticulous on your credit application. Everything to the cent needs to be perfect. |

Yes, they can definitely jack with you about this. When I signed the papers on my E90 I did not have pay stubs but they let me take it with me agreeing to bring them my three most recent pay stubs that very following Monday.
Now is your previous and current loan through BMW Financial Services? I was honest about my salary when I bought my E90, but I did kind of sugar-coat my salary on the application that I filled out for the E92 that I bought 2 months ago, because it was a good bit more expensive than the E90. They didn't bat an eye at it though when I provided actual pay stubs. Good luck man...
