so i kind of got raped by a subaru

i stop at a red light and i see this queer in a subaru wink at me and start revving his engine so i just smile back. as soon as the light turned green i hit it and i assumed the kid didn't want to race, but a few seconds later i hear this atrocious sound and before i know it the kid blows past me giving me a thumbs up out his window.

this kid was really young, maybe 17 18 so i doubt he had a turbo in there, he had a bunch of gauges and shit on the side of his dash though. what could this kid possibly have in his car to make it SIGNIFICANTLY faster than 300hp? it wasn't even an STI it was just a regular WRX or maybe just an impreza.

i'm baffled

Let's put it this way..

A Impreza WRX (non STI) heavily moddified will go faster than a fully modified 335i. Many more parts + the awd from the dig. The WRX (non STI) comes standard with a turbo as well.

Those cars can be transformed into mindless beasts. A heavily modded Subie is to be left alone, most times.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the 2010 WRX does 0-60 in about 4.7 sec.

They are really good from a dig. They tend to fade in the high end though... but at that point he'll be so far ahead of you it wont matter unless you get a perfect launch.

Sti's are nothing but hopped up metal death sleds that haul ass.

I agree with your statement but it wasn't an STI. Was either an impreza or a impreza WRX (most likely WRX)

A WRX with a turbo upgrade, full exhaust, CAI, and tune can put down 400awhp and it's not like it's a heavy car. Add some meth, maybe nitrous, and next thing you know you've got a 500+awhp beast.

Don't mess with Subies...or Evos. You never know with those cars.

Stage 2 WRX (turbo back, tune, up pipe) will not take a 135i. BUT a WRX with a little more will destroy it. The "kid" could have easily had a bigger turbo in and who knows what else. A WRX is a badass car!

Um, if he had lots of gauges, me thinks he had a turbo as well.

P.S. lots of young kids have turbo cars, there is no age where one is magically granted the authority to own a car with a turbo.

^^+1 Yeah, you usually shouldn't fuck with a car with a bunch of gauges..you never know, it could have been a debadged sti with upgraded turbos.

no not that, it's just that turbos are pretty expensive and i wouldn't think a young kid would be able to dish out that much money. you never know though..

In highschool I had a single turbo Maxima, 3.5L VQ35DE (350z motor) making around 400whp... So yeah.

I believe some mags got the new WRX off the line quicker than the new STi, maybe due to less lag??

Nope. The standard WRX has a 5 speed and the STI has a 6 speed. The WRX has a longer first gear which means more road speed. The STI has to shift sooner so it loses it's advantage.
