BMW dealers are notorious for varying their charges depending on how they feel, there are even differences between parts and labour charges within the same dealer group!

I was charged £125 inc vat by my nearest dealer (Williams Rochdale) but they started around £170 and it was only after having five regional dealers fighting off each other that I got it that low. Even now the price really galls me considering the microfilter is a £10 part that can be done within minutes by myself.

Never again.

I think you can get a genuine one off the internet for not much more than £15.

Yeah, I was quoted around £37ish today at a dealer, but I kindly declined. Changing the microfilter is super easy and something I can do myself.

replaced the micro filter and reset the service indicator, piss easy.
total cost £17.04 for filter from euro car parts. it was exactly the same as the one already in there. good to go for another 2 yrs.

Indeed, there are a lot of pattern parts that look very similar to oem.
This is one of them.
But the cheap ones dont have the activated charcoal to knock out smells

Brake fluid is a job that absolutely ANY decent garage can do.
