Eminem's New Album: Recovery
Did anyone else buy his new cd? I just heard it on the radio yesterday and just picked up a copy today ($9.99 at Best Buy). Pretty sick album.

I didn't know when it came out. I heard something about it yesterday morning so I was like "hmmm wonder when that's coming out". Then today I heard on the radio that it's already out so I went to pick up a copy. Just got it like 2 hours ago. Listening to it now.
The cashier at BB was like "this is a good cd. You're like the 7th person that's bought it in this hour alone." Last edited by BMW F22; 06-22-2010 at 11:55 PM.. |

Bought it and Drake's album yesterday. Drake's joint is better. Eminem's style now sounds like he's constipated when he rhymes. Like he's gritting his teeth and pushing out a thick turd. Which is pretty much what Recovery is compared to his first two records.

Lyrically its a good album
Musically I just dont like it. For me lyrics only get you so far, you need a good flow and voice and right now eminems flow just isnt my style. I wish hed go back to his old style. |

eminem just needs to give up. he should have just ended it at Encore, and maybe being featured on some singles here and there. but 2 new albums? he was cool back in the day but now that we have all these new rappers to contrast, eminem's rhymes are just white trashy and sort of gay.

It's OK. All rappers need to quit talking about themselves though. This album gets repetitive quickly imo.
YEH WE KNOW YOU ARE BETTER KNOW! Great, awesome, take on the world, be a better dad. Fine stuff for a song or even two, but damn. We wanna hear about Big Screen TV's, blunts, 40's and bitch's. Not about therapy breakthroughs. I remember the first time I heard "Cleaning Out My Closet", I was like damn, that's a masterpiece. There is nothing like that here...at all. None of the songs really made me laugh either, like so many previous one did. And of course we get the obligatory "collaborations", /yawn. It was cool and unexpected with the Dido, and then Aerosmith and then and then and then and then, NO MORE "AND THEN", geeeez. Sorry guys, I don't love it. It's OK for a background rap album (random/shuffle mix), but to put it on and listen to it through and through like his other stuff it's not happening here. |
