Camshafts and VANOS problem. Need help from you all

Hi all,

My 335i is facing the now more of a common problem in the 335i's, the camshaft and vanos problems. The dealership has to replace both camshafts, some actuators and the vanos solenoids and has given me a quote of 3100€.

I am out of warranty, as my car is 3 and a half years old and the warranty in Spain is only a 2-year one.

I have spoken with BMW Spain and told them that it is a common problem that other 335i's are having, but they have requested me to provide them some VINs in order to prove it is a common one so that they pay for the work.

My car has not been driven hard and has only 75000km.

If I remember correctly some of you have already faced this problem. You would do me a great favour if you PM me your VIN so I can use it as evidence in my "quest" with BMW Spain.

I know sending the VIN is not easy, but you would truly do me a great favor.
