Just in case, don't break your rear glass....

My car was rear ended by a bus back on 11/30. It went in the shop 12/6 and everything was going smoothly until they had to remove the rear glass to put on a new rear fender. Well the glass shattered from the stress. The shop immediately ordered glass and was hoping to have it done last Thursday. Well no glass came so no finished car. They then said the car will be done today. I get a call a little bit ago,

"uh, sorry, but the car won't be done today. The rear glass in on order from Germany and won't be shipped until at least 12/26. We hope to have it by the 28th or 29th, but who knows how long the shipping will take. We'll be in touch and let you know when the glass shows up".

I'm really freaking fed up right now. I want my damn car back. I'm sick of this piece of shit Caddy CTS I have as a loaner. Would it be outside of what I can do to try and get my monthly payment for my car out of the bus company as sort of a compensation for the troubles? I wasn't going to bother when the repairs were estimated at a week, but I'm closely approaching a month now, and even though I got a "comperable" loaner (I don't think so ), I don't feel it should still cover as my payment for a car I chose to get over a car I was given.

Anyways, nobody go breaking their rear glass. Because it's apparently a bitch to get a new one. Besides I'm first haha.

I just thought of this. I don't get to celebrate the car's first x-mas with it . Instead I'm stuck with a CTS as my baby has to sit in a shop:mad:

That sucks, I wouldn't imagine the rear glass being nationally backordered to wrrant special order from Germany. At least you got a Caddy CTS, other folks have gotten worst rentals and had to put up with longer waits. GL with everything.

I guess so, unless the shop is a bunch of dumb asses

Oh I only got the CTS because I threw a shit storm of trouble at the bus company. Statefarm was only going to give me $25/day which equals a Cobalt or Impala, but that wasn't acceptable in my book. So I went after the bus co. to put up the difference. At first they said no, then I threatened a Lawyer will be contacting them and they caved.

Thanks for the warning, I was going to break my rear glass this weekend.

Seriously though, that sucks dude. Glad you got the bus co. to pony up for a car closer to the one in the shop, good work.

No kidding..at least he HAS a free car where 99% of the drivers out there would be SOL and having to pay for a car rental while their car was being repaired.

Oh,,and the CTS isn't a POS. A Kia is a POS.

Ok, the CTS isn't a POS, but it's a POS when you compare it to a BMW. I'm just salty and want my ride back.

Also noones commented on if I can get my monthly payment out of the bus co. for my bimmer, or is that not a normal thing to ask for. This is the first time I've ever been hit.

Be glad you're getting your glass from Germany

They could easily put an aftermarket (inferior) rear window in for you.

I understand your frustrated... At least your not riding your bicycle or the bus to work. A Cadillac CTS is still an extremely nice car.

A Cadillac CTS is a decent car. I know that you are using this board to vent but getting angry will not make your glass shipment come in faster.

Wow reminds me of Sweet 16.

A CTS isn't bad at all. Very comparable.

It's people like you who bitch about little things. People pull strings in hopes to make you feel better, only to see that it just makes it worse. Makes them inclined to not be so helpful to others anymore.

This is true. But being that I only have 5k on the car before I could even mention I wanted only new parts the shop said they would give me nothing but new parts.

You guys need to chill not me. I'm just bitching cuz I want my car back. I would prolly be bitching about any car I was given haha. I'm also not to loving towards our lovely american car cuz they are shitty, no matter what badge you smack on it. My favorite about the CTS is it has the same keyless entry fob and my g/f's 02 Cavalier . +35k for a car and you get the same fob as a 14k car, gotta love that about GM.

Shut the fuck up. No one pulled strings for me. I wasn't accepting anything below a certain level and applied some force to get what I wanted. The bus co. does have a policy to cover the difference to put people in comperable cars, they just don't advertise it in hopes to save themselves some money. I just had to talk to the next level of supervisor to get it.

A fully loaded BMW M6's key fob is the same as a base model, stripped, manual 325i's key fob...

My insurance company's policy on comparable car was one that is comparable in size class....unfortunately the E90 is classified as a compact so needless to say the rental I got (when I sent my car in for a bumper scrape) was nothing to write home about. I did complain a tad and got bumped up to an Altima which was for full size car.

I think the bus co is doing the right thing. Accidents happen. I wouldn't push for the month's car payment.

Just chill, enjoy the holidays and 'enjoy' the Caddy

Wishing your car a speedy recovery

Oh stop it my car is totalled and I am stuck in a Dodge Caliber. No it wasn't a BMW but I should have a new M3 next Nov, and I am waiting for the insurance to cut me a check. It's been almost two weeks already and it has gotten almost nowhere so far.
