Thinking about getting my dad a BMW Motorcycle...
He's wanted one for as long as I can remember and I'm seriously considering getting one for him now. Obviously, I missed the Christmas deadline on this but BMW is offering a special deal through BMW FS right now if you buy by Dec. 31st where you don't have to pay a dime until the summer. The bike I'm considering is BMW's flagship motorcycle, the K 1200 LT priced at $22K.
I wanted to see if any of you have had personal experience with the K 1200 LT and if so what you thought about it? And keep in mind, my dad hasn't been on a bike for 20 years. The last time he was he had to put the bike down in order to avoid a crash but luckily was OK. I take it the K 1200 LT is a very safe bike, right? I don't want to set my dad up for another accident. My mom's reasoning behind not getting him another motorcycle is because she thinks he'll kill himself on it. Let's hope not. Also, any tips on getting a good deal through my dealership? The payment estimate on BMW's site says about $488 month for 48 months. Think I could chop that down to $430/month? I'm putting $0 down. |

IF they end up letting you buy a motorcycle, Then you would be on your way to enlightenment. You would find nirvana sooner....PFFFFF its late and im not thinking straight...get your mother to purchase the bike under her name, that way you can get it to your father. If you need any more help on how to get this done instant message me. LOL LOOOOOOGAAAAAANNNN!!!!! Love you dude, no hard feelings.

22K for a bike? Does it give you a massage, trim your hair, and shave your face for you while you are driving it??
I didn't know BMW bikes were that expensive.. I am extremely interested in sport bikes and can't believe a BMW bike costs that much.. Wow. For comparison, a Yamaha R1 weighs 390 lbs, has 180 hp, costs $12K..

Every BMW bike I've seen is hideous and overpriced. Might as well get a Ducati for that price. |

You can't put the words bike and safe in the same sentence unless you've got a not in there somewhere.

I love the one sided fork thing on the rear wheel. I dont want to be a party pooper, or play devils advocate, or be the pessimist here, but i have heard 1000 stories about people getting hurt on bikes, and i had a good friend pass last year from a bike accident. i want to PAY everyone i know with a bike to never ride again, i personally woudldnt purchase anyone that i cared about one of these machines. thats just me.
