320d clutch pedal 'buzzing'....

Just test drove an 07 320d M Sport (163), 39,000 miles, six speed manual.
Drove nicely apart from one thing.....
On acceleration, 50% (ish) or more throttle, I could feel a sort of buzzing type vibration throught the clutch pedal at around 2000 to 2750 rpm (ish again ).
I had my foot just on the pedal, ready to go for the next gear.
It also felt a bit reluctant to go into 2nd and 4th a couple of times.
More so than my 320i E92 and my current loaner an E90 316d ES on a 10 plate.
Alll was calm at idle and it pulled away smoothly with no judder.
I've not driven one of this era before.

Any ideas? Are they all like this?

It's kinda putting me off, after reading some flywheel / clutch nightmares on here....

Does the 320d have a dual mass flywheel? Symptoms sound quite characteristic of DMF failure...

Yes it does have a DMF.

My 320d always gave me feedback through the pedal and the gearstick and I got 20k trouble free miles. However it did then go. So it could be that it was always on the way the entire time I owned the car.

I had the clutch and DMF replaced, but then had the symtoms you describe here only 30 times worse. Which makes me think they fucked up the replacement of the DMF. It is booked in again and I am just waiting for the shit storm about paying for it...

Not trying to put you off though: If you're not sure then try another one! If it feels the same; Then you know it is just a characteristic of the car! Any dealership will have a 320d in stock AUC so just take another test drive
