Rim delivery question
Hi everyone,
i purchased Work Varianza T1s with step lip from Speedstar in April. I was wondering if anyone had experience having rims shipped from Japan. Its july 21st and they tell me there still isnt' a tracking number, but they tell me it should be here in the next 2 weeks max. How long does it usually take and is there anything i can do to figure out the eta or any status regarding my order. Thanks, Last edited by Undies; 07-21-2010 at 10:04 PM.. |

Speedstar is a pretty straight up shop.
Id ask them what the wait is. Sounds like its a delay on the manufacturing side of things...

From what I understand, they don't send their parts by air. They pack all their orders in their cargo container in Japan and send them off to Canada on a monthly basis. It then gets delivered to their warehouse and sent to their shop.
If you are picking up the wheels in person, I don't think there is a tracking number for the wheels? I know I will be anxious too because it's almost August, but custom wheels take time to build and ship, hope you can get it within the next two weeks!

Speedstar is a stand up shop. I bought my Advans and a bunch of other stuff from them over the last two years. They send everything using ship containers. On their website they list delivery ETA for the containers. Just give Frank or Albert a call. I'm sure they'll get you informed ASAP.
PS. My Advans took three months to deliver, so it all depends if you made it in before one of their containers were sent. |

i wasn't questioning SS's business practices, i know they are coming...i made this post to see if waiting for rims 4-5 months is normal.
i know all you guys know how it feels to wait for shoes for so long. it literally eats you up inside and i'm slowly going insane....slowly... |

so it seems like there are two shipments on route. one is coming in a week, the other in 3.5 weeks. my rim wasn't done until 2 weeks ago, so its definately the latter container.
however, works has no idea what they contain. how could this disorganization be possible. the order is just a number they have to keep track of. |

Right now, the ETA on my Volks is about 2 months. I got in at the end of a big order, but some guys in the same group will have ended up waiting about 4 months. I would say ~4 months for wheels coming straight from Japan sounds about right. |
