Driving on 407 at night is a f**king disaster.....millions of mosquitoes ready to kamikaze onto your car......tonight it got so bad on my windshield, i had trouble seeing, had to pull over and wipe off all that crap....if only iphones had flash so i could show u guys....after that I had to come here and complain (and possibly warn ppl who dont know).....seriously couldn't this be a driving risk? u can whip off snow with windshield wipers, but u cant whip off dead misquotes....the bushes around 407 are like perfect breeding ground for these pests....sometimes i wish i had a flamethrower

It's not just the 407...any highway/expressway is like that...just stop by your local pressure washer and blast away.

I have a lot of those, but DAMN you took out some big ones.

really? because i never have this problem on 404 or 401...maybe one or two little ones here and there....but on 407 it feels like its raining mosquitoes

I guess most part of 401 until you get really west or east..is filled with infrastructure of some sort. I used to go into London weekly, maybe twice a week...experienced the same sort of thing. Same thing with going to Casino Rama for a concert...I guess it happens on the 407 more often cause the environment surrounding is all green.

i see....well furthest ive gone on 401 E is oshawa and hurontario/sauga on the other end...didnt use the 407 much before..thats prolly why this is all new to me

Must be weather dependant. I was driving home from Bolton to Markham on the 407 last Saturday night and I was surprised at how little dead bugs ended up on my front bumper and windshield.

I hate this so much. Always happens on every highway though. Used to make a lot of trips to Tdot just for fun coming from K/W and there are so many green areas on the side of the 401.

OP: to clean your car stop by any gas station and wipe the front end down with the foam side of the window squeegee. I have got into the habit of doing this as it prevents yellow stains on my clear bra.

I think thats really normal...

If you are passing by the highway with trees around the area you would get a lot of those.

When I was in Germany doing my ED, its 10x worst than that! I remember I hit a big bug and splattered yellow on my windshield :/ I would say it about 4" x 4" area.

you know that, especially you get the highway after car-wash, similar looks like you didn't wash it yet! So you cannot avoid it!!

I remember driving up I5 from LA to San Fran. I was driving maybe 80mph with my window down and felt a sharp pain in the back of my neck. So I reached up to feel my neck and when I looked at my hand, I had what was left of a grasshopper...I know it was a grasshopper cuz the leg was still in one piece.

Now imagine the same thing on the 407 with a motorcycle...the bug shower is pretty nasty!

Drive on the 401 to Montreal or to Windsor in the heat of summer....you'll get different species of many bugs....the 407 is near much more green areas then the 401 (GTA)....

the trick is not to use your wipers. the wipers smudges their shit all over the windshield.
