Alloy Wheels Warwickshire
Wife's borrowed car for FIRST time in 4,000.
Result = one kerbed wheel. She's only driven 6 miles. So, suggestions for wheel refurbs in Warwickshire would be gratefully received...

Gutted let me guess... She's significantly less bothered than you are?

"it's only a car" is certainly an overused phrase in my house this afternoon

Either break a heel of one of her shoes, or rip a hole in one of her dresses, and see what she says...

Get it done at a workshop based company if you can - much better than mobile ones that just fill it and paint it.
Got all four wheels done recently (no kerbing - just needed sorting) at this place - it's the sort of outfit I'd recommend - the finish is flawless (unlike the website!) http://www.thepolishedwheelcompany.com |

The last two mobile companies I phoned, use an ultra violet clear coat curing booth. Last edited by creepy coupe; 08-17-2010 at 04:58 AM.. |

Ultra violate? Or is that Ultra violet?! Still not a good as full chemical stripping, baking and proper lacquering.

Obviously not as good as sending it off, but as it's only one wheel and modern BMW's don't come with spares, it's a lot more convenient to have someone turn up on the driveway and sort it. |

True enough - arranging a lift to/from that place 25 miles away then leaving it all day wasn't what I'd call convenient.

Problem is I'd only have to buy her new ones Anyway, booked in for a 'proper' repair with dealer bodyshop.... I really hope they do a good job (I've been assured they will) Will report back on Wednesday.

Was going to say that Rybrook and Sytner offer wheel refurbs for about £60 a corner. Not sure how good the finish is though as I've not had one done. That's probably because my wife won't drive my car!

Metz - I found the same place my local BMW dealer uses - they charge £85 per wheel, the company I got it done by charged £60ish - for exactly the same job...

Took car in as agreed this morning at 8am for its 'day at the dealers'. Having spelt out exactly the type of wheel it was on Monday when it was booked in, i have to say i was a little bit frustrated that, after the third 'sorry he's not at his desk' phone call, i eventually got a call at half past f*cking three to say 'hohoho, you'll never guess what, but we've not been able to do the wheel repair today as you've got unusual wheels which we need a special tool for. Can you come back Friday?'

Ahhh, they had the square tool only and because your wheels are round, the square tool won't work so they need to get the round version in....

Try the wheel specialists. They did an excellent job on my Z3's wheels (previously refurbished cheaply)

Got there eventually...
Took car back in today - had a nice little 3dr 116i as a loaner - wheel has had a great repair and looks as good as new. Dealer also gave it an excellent hand wash and charged me a discounted £50 for the previous inconvenience! Well done Rybrook Warwick (in the end!) Also had a little play in the exhibition Performance 335i coupe they've had on loan (was at Gaydon I think) - mighty tempted by the Performance exhaust/silencer kit...! Makes a lovely sound PS. Thanks for all the suggestions/recommendations!

Hi just incase it happens again Andy @ Colour Correction in Redditch do top wheel refurbs.
As I understand they do work for the dealers any way Sorted me out when I damaged my bumper. £200 instead of the £900 quoted by dealer |
