PROcede 335is Update
Hey all, wanted to keep you guys up to date on the tuning solution for the 335is. Currently between the JB3 and PROcede, the PROcede is ready to work out of the box for the 335is with custom maps.
Some noticeable features of the PROcede in the 335is: -Increased low rpm throttle response makes for a superb driving experience (something the factory software didn't provide) -Boost on a stock vehicle in South Florida heat (100+ degrees) pushing sustained 14 psi, and upwards of 16psi tune only on 93 octane -Increased DCT shift responsiveness, as well as more subtle shift patterns in Drive -Transmission responsiveness in DS, is just as aggressive as Sport+ -Sport+ shifting is as quick as the M DCT Transmission possibly faster? (opinion, no factual data to prove this, but it is very noticeable!) -Full Auto-tuning values established and works flawlessly These are just some updates. I can't say that this is all finalized, but I am very, very happy with how progression has come thus far. Shiv commented that he is still not satisfied and wants more from the PROcede in the 335is. Another thing to note is that all of this was done in a very timely fashion. Here is a quick overview of just how fast these changes were made: Tuesday (8/24)- Installed PROcede, 4 3rd gear pulls for data logging. Wednesday (8/25)- Fully customized map for improved DCT functionality and shift points Thursday (8/26)- Full auto-tuning incorporation. Friday + Saturday (8/27-28)- Fully incorporated race dedicated map2. Also had a chance to personally experience the full effect of auto tuning. The car feels very responsive and pulls very hard towards the end of the power band. Side note: Raced my bros C63, and he cannot pull on me anymore. This is only with PROcede and Burger Tuning (S&B) Drop in Filter. From a dig with launch control I can stay ahead of him until around 100+, although he never passed me you can tell he wasn't budging from behind me, and if anything slowly closing the gap. The speed at which all of these custom settings were made available and fully functional was exceptional. Those of you with a 335is need to get your hands on a PROcede immediately! Thanks for reading, -Adrian |

Drop in filter and ram air scoops. I do have dp's and midpipes (ar & borla) catless ready to go but with my schedule have not been able to install them as of yet. Waiting for hpf fmic to get it all done together as well.
So in short, nope. On a roll I can't pull on a C63. Once bolt ons are complete that won't be a problem. Also note I am an e93. |

great news Adrian...couple of questions...
1) do you know if the DCT is the same hardware as in the M-DCT just different software? 2) will the HPF FMIC fit in the 335is? i heard there was less "room" there from the cooling enhancements. Thanks |

The front length is the restriction because of factory ram air ducts for the oil and air coolers. HPF fits in these locations it just sits further out towards the grille so it is more visible. AA fmic fits as well. The area that you have to cut costs around $10 from tischer so don't worry about cutting.
As far as DCT goes I'm not completely sure it's the same hardware but I'd be surprised if it wasn't. Software definitely improves the tranny response. Hope this helps. |

I know one thing, on my "old" N54, some guy tried in a new model GTO with the Vette V8 and he stood no chance either...
Can't imagine what the updated N54 must pull like!

Does the Procede make any actual changes to the way the DCT shifts? Or are you simply talking about the feel? |

+1...i thought the procede does help the shift speed of a 6AT...but i could be wrong someone with 6AT might be able to assist on that.

I am waiting for my 135i with DCT to be redelivered and will definitely get Procede installed when it arrives. So I am very interested in hearing more about any improvements on the DCT. Can you (or Shiv) explain what exactly was changed/reprogrammed to the DCT? |

I'll let shiv comment on that with his 135 tuning. In my car downshifts seem a hair quicker and engage gear instantaneous with te throttle especially on kickdown. Feels like I was driving in second or third where the car just goes when I was cruising in 7th then going WOT. Gear changes are not even noticeable except for the dag display and your head pinned to the headrest. I have no technical information though.
