Paddle shifters shift before the click?

I have a 2007 335i.

I've noticed that both of my paddle shifters will downshift gears BEFORE they click - like when I keep my thumbs on them for quick shifts. I can put some small amount of pressure on them - without them clicking down - and it will shift.

Anyone else notice this, or is this something I should mention next time I'm at the dealer?

If you are going to slow for that gear it will downshift for you, same as upshifting, to fast for that gear if will upshift for you.

thats your car helping you with the shifts if you dont time it right!
but if you want to hold on to more rpms like a real manual feeling then move the gear knob to ds and shift up to M1..thats the realy manual in automatic where only you do the shifts from there or the paddles but if u push the paddles first its different story!

Umm yeah I know that... I'm talking about doing a steady speed in the low to mid rev range, resting your thumb on the paddle shifter WITHOUT clicking it, and it downshifts. It's like the button is too sensitive or misadjusted...

Yeah this initially blew me away. I guess manual in German means still auto but shifts at different times

Your car and you share a special bond... did you plug your little blue Avatar tail into the car somewhere? Cause that might have something to do with it

I would compare it to another 335i and see. Maybe you don't know how hard you're pushing or maybe your car is overly sensitive
