Quick Question

I am in the middle of making a DIY on painting the mirror caps black, and before I get too much into it here is what I am doing. Sanding the crap out of the mirror caps then painting several layers of black trim paint then clearcoating it. Anything else I am forgetting?

Just make sure you do a good job sanding to the edges. If you get lazy at the edges, it will start flaking off.
