My sister's 2.5 yr old Great Dane (Tish) on the left; my 5 month old Dane (Jack) on the right (pic is 3 weeks old). Jack is probably 10 lbs heavier now than he was in this picture.

What an awesome looking dog! I looked into getting a Rhodesian - they are great dogs w/ excellent personalities! I decided on the Great Dane instead b/c they are a little more laid back and require less physical activity. They're very content laying around the house being as lazy as me...

I want one of those. What are the pros and cons of the breed so far from your experience? Is the breed a good indoor dog, etc?

She is awesome! I really have nothing bad to say about the breed. She has a great temperament and is always good with other dogs and children. Another great thing is that she doesn't have any of the health concerns that a regular English Bulldog has. Her nose isnt as smashed in so no breathing problems and not as fat so no hip dysplasia. And I keep her in the house with me, so yes they are perfect indoor dogs.

We adopted him though http://www.ridgebackrescue.org They rescue all the dogs from puppy mills around the country. We got him when he was a year old and have had him now for just over a year. He's awesome and loves to go mountain biking with me on the weekend.
