Costco: Torin Aluminum/Steel Race Jack, 2 1/2-Ton, $99.99

Torin "Black Jack" Model# T84025

I figured some people may be interested in this. The same spec model sells for $230 at Princess Auto.

Minimum height 3.9" without adapter. I know that might be a little tight for a E90 M-sport, but worse comes to worse, I'll put a 2x6 under the tires.

I actually got even luckier with a $97.99 display pricing error. Got the $2.30 difference back, plus an extra $10 back for the "overcharge" error (didn't know that was Costco policy).

There were about 12 left at the Costco I went to. (Toronto, Billy Bishop)

Edit: Mine did NOT come with a rubber pad in the saddle as I mentioned originally. I could have sworn the floor model had one. As well, some product descriptions on the 'net for this model indicated there is one. Sorry for any confusion.

Here's a pic with some reviews:

Well, I don't have an expert opinion and I haven't handled the Canadian tire version. But prior to getting the Costco Torin, I was looking at the CT one. From what I've read the CT version is lighter, but only rated for 1.5 tons (which is enough for E9xs). Because it's lighter than the Torin 2.5, it's more portable. It sometimes goes on sale for $120, reg. price $200. The advantages that the Torin it that it is much quicker to raise the car, with significantly less pumps. Also, it is easier to lower the car gently. I've read the CT one can sometimes drop the car too quick if you don't turn the handle slowly. Again, this is just from my own limited research.

Note: I opened mine today and it did NOT come with a rubber pad on the saddle. I'm confused, because I'm almost sure the floor model had one. Also some of the product descriptions on the 'net say it has. However, the pic on the box and instructions do not indicate one. I may make another trip to Costco to double check.

i hve the CT one and it works fine. pretty sure it is similar to the Torin one but as Doc said, it is only a 1.5. either way, if you are lowered significantly, you will need a small ramp/wood planks in order to get the jack underneath... as for myself, i needed to add 2 bricks
