E90 Brake Pads?
Hi
I'm in need of changing my pads on my E90 320D (55 plate) and was wondering which are the best pads out there in terms of quality and price? not lookin to pay a silly price for them though. Brands Ive come across include... Jurid (OEM), EBC, Mintex, ATS, ABTEX, Mehr, Allied, Tru Part. Thanks |

Im also finding the redstuff better than the oem Jurid in all respects.
Cost is similar, but wear rate is definately lower, as is the dusting. Have a look at Brakes International for Jurids and oem spec, very cheap. I use them, and am using their own brand discs, for road and track too. |

EBC Redstuff, just put themo on my 330d. Very good effortless stopping. I was told they would be poor when cold but to be honest they are still better then oem when cold.

I have EBC yellow pads on front and rear, EBC vented rotors on rear and EBC vented USR grooved rotors on the front.
A very good set-up. |

I've used Redstuff with OE discs on a couple of cars, and would highly recommend. |

Ferodo DS2500 would be my choice for cheap road pads.
For track - Carbotech XP10 or 12 on a 335i. But alas.... try and find them |

I have a full unused set of DS2500 pads for all 3ers except 335i/d. (not available for 335i/d fitment)
These will fit ALL E9x except 335i or d. £200-£250 retail, make me an offer If you want them...... |

Coming from first hand experience, I wouldn't touch EBC with a 10ft pole. I've used huge amounts of pads (due to competition and testing) from the likes of Pagid, Ferodo, Mintex, PF and many more and my personal choice for Road pads would be Pagid RS4-2 (Blue) followed by RS4-2-1 (Black) and then equal choice between Performance Friction Z (maybe 01 compound) and Ferodo DS2500, though PF usually win as they are about 1/2 the price of DS2500. One thing to note is that DS2500 are not type approved for road use so fitting them could technically void your insurance.
Best pads for the money for this particular application without doubt have to be Performance Friction in Z-Compound. If you are after a fast road pad then the Z-Compound but if you would prefer a slightly more track biased pad them the 01-Compound. Speak to Co-ordSport, they should be able to sort you out. I think the pad shape you want is 0394 Front and 0548 Rear (Note .11 is the lasted Z compound so your pad number would be 0394.11 (.10 is the older compound)) According to Co-ordSport's June 2010 price list they should be £68.60 Some info on PF's friction material http://www.coordsport.com/attachment...-compounds.pdf Last edited by atomic69; 10-06-2010 at 11:32 AM.. |

Anyway - agree with your comments, I wanted the Pagid pads, but they don't do a 335i/d fitment (except endurance RS29 - way to hardcore for road use) DS2500 are not available for 335i/d either Performance friction don't do any pads for the 335i/d either. The only trackday / road pads you can get for a 335i/d are the blasted EBC red etc. Thats what I ended up with, but they are a marked improvement over OE, so they'll do for the time being. Also LCI 330i and 330d are now fitted with the 335i/d brake setup so they are now included in the 'no pads' group i'm in! |

I had Carbotech USA make me pads for my R26.
Cost about £350 for the fronts (Brembo). But man did they last, and last. Spa/Ring/Airfields and then a hard day at Rockingham and no sign of wear. So often cheapest isn't best value
