WARNING: AVOID Brookfield (BCE) Place Car Wash - Clean Car Co

EDIT 12/10/2010: issues have been rectified

WARNING: AVOID Brookfield Place Car Wash - Clean Car Co

I dropped off my 335 this morning at 8am for the top of the line "works" package, which includes a 3 step exterior detail (wash, polish, wax) & full interior cleaning, including all leather/vinyl and hard surfaces. The total cost came out to about $425 or so; fine by me as long as the job is done right (and I was assured it would be done "professionally"). There were handfuls of cars down there they worked on that looked 10/10 and cost 10x as much as mine so I figured I was in safe hands.

The results were extremely disappointing.

Summary
-tire shine over spray all over the rims and looks like it stained my matte black rims.
- sediment from polish left all over exterior of car ;in door handle, around windows, in parts of spoiler where it mates with trunk, etc.
- dust all over interior
- water spots all over mirrors and every window
- paper towel on tires and tire cleaner residue on tire side walls
- sediment in kidney grill
- swirl marks remain in paint

I will post the pictures shortly (took so many camera ran out of batteries). My girlfriend was even disappointed and noticed things that weren't right.

I tried to call them tonight but they don't even have a voicemail box; I will be paying them a visit Tuesday to show the pictures and express my dissatisfaction.

The results were extremely disappointing. When I showed up at 5:30 (as I told him after called 2 times in the afternoon asking what was going on with the car; he said it wasn't busy and should be done mid aft) he was still trying to towel off the car. I would not be surprised if this was his first detail EVER, as I could do a better job and I have never picked up a detailing tool in my life.

Summary
-tire shine over spray all over the rims and looks like it stained my matte black rims. He says its tire shine and not rim cleaner (which I instructed him to NOT use, soap and water only).
- sediment from polish left all over exterior of car - I pointed out that it was in the trunk jam and he hurried over with a polishing cloth to wipe it up.
- dust all over interior - he never cleaned or wiped the dash
- water spots all over mirrors and every window
- paper towel on tires
- sediment in kidney grill
- swirl marks all over hood

I will post the pictures shortly (took so many camera ran out of batteries). My girlfriend was even disappointed and noticed things that weren't right.

Avoid this place at all costs!

GTA IN DETAIL next time you need your car washed/waxed....why would you pay $425?

Not that surprising. I noticed a similar place when I was at the Exchange Tower a few weeks ago and it seemed really disorganized with cars everywhere and a bunch of workers frantically working (it was about 4:00pm when I drove past their area in that garage).

Why would you have it done there.

Picus i.e GTA in detail can do a much better job for a better price. He is on this board as picus and a lot of people use him to get the car looking all shiny.

I know

1) he lives down the street from me
2) I was jammed for time. Actually, an MD at work recommended their service - given that it could be done during day in the parking lot while I was at work seamed appealing

I just finished a full day detail...

If you're gonna drop 425...you might as well get a reputed detailer like GTA in detail or do it yourself! Esp for a 3 series...425 is steep!

Looks like he hooked you up with the Purple Power wheel cleaner upgrade. If I were to say, just based off of the pictures of those wheels, he used a high alkaline cleaner on them and it destroyed the finish.

that's soooo horrible. I'd be super pissed. I'd raise a huge fuss and try to get my money back.

if it had been a $50 job, then fine, ya, you cant expect too much. For for 4 bills??! wtf! that's ridiculous!

that sucks. I feel your pain.

Getting money BACK?!?!?!
I would have never paid for that in the first place!!! They didnt even wash the wheels let alone got over spray on them! I would have driven my car away and not paid a dime! My car is cleaner than that on a daily basis, no joke, your washing and drying is key to keeping a very clean car.

You def got hosed on this deal.

That is a really terrible and sloppy job, especially if it's over $400...
