tranny mechtronic sleeve leaks oil?

Hey everybody,

Took my 335 in for leaking oil. dealer says its from a leaking "Mechtronic Sleeve" on the transmission. But it was clearly leaking oil, not tranny fluid.

Your thoughts?

There's an SIB for that repair, happened to me. They replace the cover sleeve and gasket and add whatever fluid has been lost. Looks like oil a bit though not red like tranny fluid of old. Tehere was a batch of bad sleeves from a supplier I believe causing the SIB, has a build date range If Ican recall. I'l try and find the SIB but yes it's not uncommon.

It was common on the E90 330's as well.

As mentioned above, common issue. I had it as well.

if the leak appears near right under the shifter, then it is the mechatronic leak, the first time i saw fluid on my garage floor, i almost made fluid in my pants!
