UK Order-to-delivery time
I'm getting a 520d MSport Auto through a company leasing scheme. It's not the easiest thing therefore to get much additional info, but I've just been quoted the expected delivery date... "mid February 2011", having had the order placed last week.
I'd be interested to know if this is comparable with what others are being told. Only a fortnight ago I was in a BMW dealer and he said he thought if I ordered within a fortnight, he would have hoped for a delivery before the end of the year. Maybe he was just being optimistic! |

I ordered mine last weekend and will get it at the beginning of December. The Dealer Group had a demonstrator on order and they converted it to my spec about a week before the build froze. Otherwise I was looking at 2nd week in January for the production slots that they had on their system.
As a private buyer, getting it delivered before the 2.5% VAT rise was a deal breaker. |

Ordered mid August. Initially delivery quoted end/November, this was moved to mid/December 2 weeks ago. 4 months seems to be typical in UK.

Hi
I have just placed an order for my F10 and the leasing company have just called to expect delivery in March 2011. Seems such a long way away.... Cheers, Ash |

Don't see this personally. Just had a call from the dealer bringing mine forward a week. Ordered 21 Oct - delivery to dealer now 22nd Nov. Must be something of a record for a build to order. The downside was that I didn't get anywhere near the discount levels that some have achieved but I guess that the dealer wants to book the profit ASAP and is pulling it forward.

Update: Ordered F11 525d SE on 29th October to my own specification and picked up the car from Stratstone Doncaster on 30th November. I even added the lumbar support to my order a few days after the initial order.
The dealer made me agree to pay the extra 2.5% VAT if the delivery slipped past Jan 4th so I was sceptical with the sales person's confidence that I would get the car before christmas. Seems like delivery times vary a lot from dealer to dealer and maybe model to model but I was astonished at the speed. Another dealer quoted me a february delivery for the exact same specification before I signed the order with Stratstone. |

I ordered my 535D M Sport on 29th September. Was initially given December 20th as delivery date but they havenīt confirmed anything. Getting really tired of waiting as I havenīt noticed anyone else having to wait this long. Called BMW UK and they told me I had to speak to my dealer. On my insistance, they checked my order number and told me that the car was still not in production. I have a bad feeling about this one. I am not getting regular updates from the dealer and have to call them repeatedly before just getting the same answer - "Waiting to hear from BMW".
