Will wear fine Imo, but can't beat leather + leather is a basic requirement when it comes to resell time, hope I haven't depressed you

I think the cloth/alcantara will wear OK, but as above stretch to leather if you can - its nice stuff and better for resale.

M Sport interiors are much better than SE ones - that nice dark headlining and chunky steering wheel make quite a difference.

Not ever sat in a non leather E9*. What are they like?

A favourite ritual of mine is conditioning the leather with Auto Glym stuff -got some oils in it that make it smell LUSH and keeps the hide in tip top condition. Worth getting leather just for that!

Alcantara is quite nice too but cloth is a bit grim.

M Sport/SE interior down to personal preference but the majority prefer the former. If you like a car nice and "airy" choose SE and grey (NEVER biege!!!) , if you prefer it a bit dark (and menacing?!!) choose M Sport.

Fat/thin steering wheel up to you but the difference is un-noticeable to most.

M Sport seats look nicer - some find the non M Sport seats more comfy though.

Silly M Sport badges that make it look like a pretend M3 are not in question though - they are simply gay ;-)

It might have been civilised*, but it was definately a "nibble".

I think I can safely claim a catch on this one.

* well done. Nearly lost it with the M badge=gay dig, but overall a 90% rating for self control.

1. M Sport seats are more comfortable and more supportive as well as looking better.

2. Alcantara/Cloth gives a sporty look and will wear fine - if you want a sportier look then go for it.

3. M Sport steering wheel is fatter and IMO feels much better.

different car, but I owned a MGZT 190 V6 a few years ago, and it had alcantara seats, they were horrible and worn by 60,000 miles !

The M-Sport alcantara seats seem extremely tough to me. They also seem to clean fairly easily.

Personally, I prefer cloth to leather and IMO the Alcantara is one of the better (if not the best) cloth-type seat covers that I have driven in.

In terms of the rest of the M-Sport package, it's well worth the extra money. The only real downside is the harsh ride. Even with non-RFT's it is brutal over less than perfect road surfaces.

I love the traditional m sport alcantara and cloth, had it in our last 318, considered it again over leather but the dakota leather came with the sport plus model for £595 so no brainer.
It wears fine and the alcantara is warm in the winter and not baking hot in the summer so beats leather there!

The m sport interior in the new 5 series looks amazing and they are using the same combo. Again would choose that other leather for sure!
