S8, that is the most reliable and imo classiest all around car. Plus, I assume he lives in NY so Quattro is a plus.

There are only 2 true luxury vehicles on the list, the Audi and the 7 series. The others are very close but detail more toward sporty. I like the A8 over the current 7 series. The A8 has a great interior and performance. Unless he can hold off until the new 7 arrives I vote for the A8.

My dad's got the A8L. He likes it alot, coming from two LS lexuses. I think of it as the middle spot between the 7 and the S. The 7 seems to be pretty driver oriented, but its not as smooth and doesnt feel as heavy as the A8. The S feels kind of fragile, and it really is overly isolationist. So it depends on what you're looking for. I voted for the A8, but on second thought, I should've voted for the S8. I didnt even notice it was sitting there. If he's not going to go with the extended wheelbase version, go with the S. That's a no brainer.

I'd go with the S8. We just got an A8 L last summer and I love it. The interior is pretty much perfect, IMO much nicer than the 7. The old man wanted the long wheelbase, and the S8 wasn't out then so that limited the options a bit.

And yeah, the H7 isn't for sale to the public.

The only Ferrari Powered LUX would be the Quattroporte! Real enthusiast should’nt have a tough time choosing from this pack of thorough breeds.

Quattroporte or S8.
I have NO idea how reliable Quattroporte is though.
Just the fact that it's under ferrari line, I know that I won't regret.

Q-porte have issues with the tranny. The auto box is due for 07 but the car has not been trouble free otherwise.

The Audi S8 got my vote, in charcoal grey (what ever Audi calls it). Very classy and sophisticated.

I don't think your father would seriously consider an M5, but if he were, well, there is no substitude. But even though I am a huge BMW fan, I would get the S8 before the 750il.
