Starbucks vs. Tim Hortons
I wanna know how many prefer which coffee shop. I'm sure many of you have never heard of Tim Hortons (unless you live in the northern states or have been to Canada) let alone had their coffee. So those of you, please don't vote.
Me and my friend argue about this all the time. He likes Starbucks, I like Tim Hortons and many other Canadians prefer Tim Hortons over Starbucks. Tim Hortons is cheaper and has way better coffee imo. Any ways, vote away...... |

Starbucks. Because Tim Hortons did not have my Chai drink when I stopped there on one of my trips.
Also, Starbucks has a cool iPhone app [they have two, but I am talking about one that lets you manage you card]

I've only seen them in canada as well. But Starbucks. Either way, they both are crap.
Find a real cafe. Over roasted burnt crappy stale mass produced beans make for shitty coffee. |

If I had to pick from the two, Hortons does a better job of roasting than Starbucks. |

Thank you. Someobdy who knows what real coffee is.
I used to get tons of black cat and other award winning roasters on a weekly basis back in NY. Unfortunately I have yet to find a place worthy enough of firing up my espresso machine in the PHX area although I got a lead on a good one. Got a La Pavoni Pro on the counter and an MD80 grinder just waiting. |

Nice. I always wanted to purchase a PIDed Silvia. In the end I just dont think I'd have the time to do all the adjustments and maintenance. The levers just simple. Replace the gaskets every couple years and its good to go. The only thing I'm thinking about changing is the grinder. Its effen huge with a hopper and doser.

Saw them everywhere in Toronto. The coffee is good but not great imo, but I could say the same about Starbucks...so I'd call it a draw. Edge to Starbucks I guess.

Also, I generally do espresso. Black Cat, intelegensia, etc. If you want some good cheap coffee check out sweet marias. They import greens and roast them. Good stuff for the price generally and it lets you sample a large variety of regions. |
