E90 Sedan is Fugly?
Just posted my farewell over on E46fanatics where I basically spent the last decade with E46 M3 and E46 328i on their forums.
Someone basically said the E90 is Fugly and another comment was it was a downgrade from the M3..... Just looking for what you guys think. I personally like how the e90 sedan looks once it has been lowered, with the right wheel combination. I do agree the coupe is more sexy, however I need 5 seats (says the wife). I basically wanted to feel some positive comments about my new E90 sleeper. |

E92 stock is classier / sportier E90 Modded (right suspension / wheel package) is far more aggressive and Sportier than a modded E92! I would take the E90 over the E92 even if I were single with no kids.

i am single with no kids and i chose the e90 over the e92. the e92 is a great design but unless u get the m3, i feel like it doesn't look as aggressive as a modded e90. plus, the extra room doesn't hurt!
i just bought my e90 and am in the process of getting all my mods on...

I love the E90. IMO it is classier than the E92.

ther're just jealous they don't jave an e90
seriously though, I thought the same thing but it definetly grew on me. I my e90! Once you get to modding it you'll be stoked! Not to mention it's faster than an e46 m3 stock for stock. Too bad it's got it's own problems aka hpfp

I honestly thought the e92 was ugly esp from the rear. But it slowly grew on me then I decided to buy it

I was in the same boat as you. My friend had a coupe and I remembered how much of a pain in the ass it was when you have more than 1 passenger ... that was my primary reason for not even looking at the e92.
After I bought my (CPO) e90 I had a lot of remorse over not compromising and getting an e92 instead. But the e90's looks have grown on me quite a bit, like one of my friends keeps saying, it looks like a mean mafia gangster car :-) The e92 now just seems meh in my opinion. I have also found that it's far easier to pack 4 girls into the car while going to the club (and also easier to kick them out :-P). Heck, at one point I even took my coworker's family to the airport, baby seat and all. Bottomline is, if it's going to be a daily drive car you just can't beat the e90 for sheer practicality. The e46 M3 looks dated imho btw ... I'm seeing more of them on the roads and they don't hold up well against the newer e90s/92s (in my opinion). So this is not a downgrade by any means. Put on a few cosmetic mods for your car (look through the Performance section of the accessories catalogue) and you'll be quite happy :-) |

E46 M3 is a nice car, can't argue that.
I can tell you I have an E90, and although before the mods it looked like any other car, as a member stated above, nice wheels, the right offset, some limo tint, and a tasteful spoiler and you have a beautiful, classy, aggressive looking car. I have a 325i so no JB3 for me, i'll always be slower than an M3, but I certainly appreciate my vehicle very much. It is still a BMW, and sexy as hell. Props to you for sacrificing your race car and settling for a true family man's luxury-sport sedan. I hope your wife is pleased

e90s are NOT ugly and are soo not a downgrade from m3!! even the e90 m3 looks different from e90 328/335.
actually, the e92 328/335 look more like a downgraded e90/e92/e93 m3 to me... |

Considering a vehicle is someone's concept and design, it only stands to reason that some people will like it and some people won't. Imagine if everyone liked the same car? We'd all be driving e92's! lol j/k
The only thing that matters is you like how the car looks and you find it enjoyable. Anything else would be living life to appease others, and why would we want to do that? |

I think the e90 with the sport package is sexy, and thats not only because i have one. That is what prompted me to wait patiently until i was in the right situation to purchase the exact one that i fell in love with in 2007. Any to the guy who said "Its a downgrade from an m3", thanks Captain Obvious! Of course if my wallet would allow me to purchase an e9x m3, i'd own one! But i'd take the 335 over an e46 m3 in a new york minute! 1k in mods on a 335i will have an e46 m3 watching you from the rear!

There are just too many downsides to the coupe - from the longer doors making entry/exit more difficult to that PITA seat belt.
Either car looks very nice. |
