Another "Autotuning Really Works" thread

So I've been running fairly consistent boost and IC since Autotuning came out..with the exception of it ramping up boost when I put race gas in. However, my boost gauge recently started registering lower, and the car definitely didn't feel as powerful as normal.

My usual Autotuned settings are:

UT (Boost) 14.5 PSI
Ign. Correction 0%

Plugged in yesterday, and found my Autotuned settings to be:

UT: 13.6
IC: 30%

Got me thinking, What happened? Then I remembered when I was out of town last week I had filled up at a tiny gas station in a small town. The gas was 92 octane, but by the looks of things, it had probably been sitting in the tanks for weeks or months.

Very thankful Autotuning was able to dial itself down in this situation, and it was smart enough to to know almost immediately something was not right.

Autotuning wins again!

Is this the kind of thing that meth injection can help with?

Yes sure, by increasing the effective octane rating of the fuel, but running too much ignition or boost on bad gas even while driving normally is not a good thing and your methanol is not flowing during these kinds of driving conditions. So it CAN help but not eliminate the problem.
