PLM downpipe review and small turbo update.
I can say this with confidence as I have installed my fair share of n54 downpipes. The "cheap" ebay pipes fit PERFECT. The hardest part of the install was tightening the primary o2 sensor because no matter which way i turned the wrench, I simply didnt have enough room, but eventually I got it tight enough for my liking.
The welds looked good, the inside of the pipes was nice and smooth, the outside had a nice coating, the fit was spot on, and for 270 bucks shipped bran new, you could not ask for much more than that. These are pretty much an IDENTICAL copy if the RR downpipes. While I was in there I was curious to see how my turbos are holding up. 41k miles, Running up to 18-19 psi since 1k on the clock. I am happy to report the compressor wheels where a nice tan/gray color with zero abnormal play. There was some play in both turbo, however, these are journal bearing, the come with play bran new. In order for me to get some up and down or side to side movement, I had to give it some effort. Zero in and out movement. That is all. |
