Question about battery safety terminal

Is it possible to bypass the BST or do I have to get a new BST cable? Does anyone know if the car needs any reprogramming after? I called my local dealer, they had no idea what I was talking about.

Also, is the BST located on a positive or a negative cable?

It's located on the positive side. You can rig it to work (I won't get into how to do it but I will say that is not that difficult with a small screwdriver). If the BST has blown chances are you have an SRS light as well. Replace the cable and light with need to be reset.

What's wrong with it? If it's not blown, then it can be kept installed but removed from the SRS system with a simple resistor. If your light is set, only a reset will clear it. You'll need a dealer mechanic or a BavTech tool or similar.

It's cable? I thought it was that distribution block looking thing?

Anyone know of it will work with an non-OEM battery?

It will work with a non oem battery. The black box is power distribution box.

What? There is no black box on my battery? There is a huge red safety switch, which I think is the BST you guys are talking about? Then just a negative clamp....no box.

Should I just run a wire from the new positive terminal to the terminal of the red block?

Not sure, but I think the red block is your BST

Looks like they don't utilize the BST? Or am I still getting confused with the distribution block?

^Well then. Is it that red thing attached to the positive terminal?

I've read somewhere that, that can be removed and a resistor can be used to prevent an error.
