Does everyone on this forum have way to much money?
So i have been lurking on forum for a month and i think everyone here just has way to much money or is a spoiled little 17 year old. Take a person i know for example. Parents buy him a 2006 330i for him. 45k car. after a while said kid get bored and has his parents sell the 330i and get him a new 335i. 48k car. What has this 17 year old done in is life to deserve an awesome car like the 330i, let alone a 335i?

I've done nothing in my life to deserve anything I have, but I'm lucky to have a decent job, not many responsibilities and a gearhead on my shoulders.
Couldn't help myself, I'm sure I'll flake out in a year and swap the lease for another e30 |

i am 17 and drive a 328i coupe. do i think i deserve the car or do other kids deserve it? no, short of saving someones life theres little a teenager can do to deserve a car over 40k (or even a car at all). while i dont think i fully deserve it im deffinetely a good kid with good grades and a good track record and love and baby the car as much as possible and say thanks as much as i can. the reason why kids my age have these cars is because our parents are in a economic position that allows them to buy things like this for us. are most kids with these cars spoiled? yes. but if you were able to buy your child a car likes this would you. i know tons of people would say no but obviously my parents and many others out there said yes so that why we have the car. while that doesnt fully justify having the car i think it shows why i have the car

if the 17 year old is humble and not a d1ck then its cool ... and hopefully he takes care of that car and understands that hard work goes into buying such a car. suppose if i was very wealthy also i would buy my kids the best.
BTW im an engineer by profession and worked for all the things i bought. Daddy or mummy did not give me anything. Whats funny is that today im taking care of them. They brought me up tough. You learn and appreciate things more in life that way

Ive worked for everything I have since i was a junior in high school. The only thing I havent had to pay for myself is living quarters, I still live with my mom. But I have payed for all my own cars, and am paying for my 335 when it comes in. I work more than I should at about 60 hours a week. I just dont agree with the younger kids that just get a car, and abuse the privilege.

this thread is going to end poorly. I'm glad my father didn't buy me my own car ever, even though he could have. I have a better appreciation toward things, and I learned to work on my own cars too by owning a bunch of junkers over the years.
I still own a Corrado and have had it in pieces on more than a dozen occasions. I can take the whole front off with my eyes closed |

hahah yeah only been around a few months and have read quite a bit on this. it can make for an interesting read. I 25 and I am not rich or poor. Just choose to spend my money on cars and traveling rather save it all right now. I figure you are only young once.

I am 18, and drive a 335i. Obviously to most people, I don't deserve it, but who are they to say who deserves what? Ultimately its the parents decision, and if they are in a financial position to be able to afford such a car, then its their call. I am a good kid and have a 3.8 GPA in college and am on the Dean's List.

I dont know why people hate on teenies driving hot cars. Thats life man, some grow up with things being handed to them while others have to work for them. That is LIFE.
But it is definitely sweeter when you put your sweat into it. Dont take that statement literally, please. I dont get why people try to justify what they drive on the basis of their education or their gpa's... |

After reading these types of threads they always come to the same conclusion:
1) Parents make a lot of money 2) Parents want a safe car for their children so they get them a luxury car thinking it is safer 3) The children don't deserve the car because they haven't earned it, but the parents deserve to give the car to whoever they want because they earned it so that's their choice. 4) Child drives the nice car and someone posts here about how they shouldn't own it and are spoiled. Yes they are spoiled but parents tend to spoil their children, there are just different levels of spoiling based on who you are and your income levels. |
